Liverpool's academy has always produced some top class talent.

Whether it's Steven Gerrard, Trent Alexander-Arnold or Curtis Jones, a lot of the Reds' academy graduates have played a regular role in the Reds' starting XI.

There have obviously been times when it's felt like things just aren't going their way but, with Andoni Iraola now at the helm, anything is possible.

Lewis Koumas, Rio Ngumoha and Trey Nyoni have all been given consistent roles in the Spaniard's squad.

So, it only makes sense that one of the Reds' veterans is now going to be replaced by a wonderkid.

Jayden Danns will replace Federico Chiesa in Liverpool's squad

At this moment in time, it's unclear what Liverpool's plans for the January transfer window are going to be.

Some people believe that they have an idea of what's going to happen but, until it actually occurs, questions will arise.

Many players have been linked with joining and leaving Liverpool with a complete overhaul even being thrown into the ring at one point.

However, with Tribuna now confirming that the Reds are willing to let Federico Chiesa leave in January on a loan with an €8m-€10m option to buy, it's clear that change is already starting to occur.

"Inter are considering a move for Liverpool winger Federico Chiesa as they look to add a fifth forward to their squad in the January transfer window," they wrote.

"According to Tribuna.com sources, the Italian winger is emerging as one of the options being considered by the Nerazzurri. Chiesa has struggled for regular playing time at Liverpool and could be open to returning to Serie A.

"Liverpool would be willing to discuss a loan deal with an option to buy, with the permanent transfer fee set at around €8-10 million."

Jayden Danns would be the perfect successor for Federico Chiesa at Liverpool

As mentioned, Chiesa hasn't played all that much football over the last couple of years.

Most fans thought that his £10 million move back in August 2024 was going to be the bargain of the century.

And, even though he was mainly brought in to be Mohamed Salah's back-up, he was never really given the opportunity to fully prove his worth.

This then leads us to today, where, almost three years on, he's arguably in a worse position than he was before he joined Liverpool.

Losing Chiesa would obviously put Liverpool an attacker down but, with players such as Jayden Danns ready and waiting to be called up, it feels like they should be fine.

Danns is more of a striker than he is a winger but, with how many wingers Liverpool have among their ranks at the moment, they're probably more in need of a number nine.

That is, especially since Hugo Ekitike is still side-lined.

In the future, that could obviously change and a winger might end up being more needed but, right now, if Chiesa does go in January, Danns is literally the perfect replacement for the Italian.

This extra chance to feature for Liverpool's first-team could be massive for his confidence and his progression which is why, especially with Iraola at the helm, bringing Danns in to succeed Chiesa makes total sense.
