Instead, one mistake led to Mikel Arteta's men sitting back for most of the clash after they'd bagged their first goal.

Obviously, shutting up shop works for the Gunners but, it still feels like Liverpool should have done much better than they did.

They had barely any shots on target despite their attack being their most expensive ever.

Fans have been questioning whether Andoni Iraola is the right fit for Liverpool and now, questions are even being asked about some of his players with fans wanting the Spaniard to utilise every single option he has at his disposal.

Andoni Iraola confirms Liverpool should have done better with the chances that they had

Liverpool may have had four shots on target throughout their game against Arsenal on Sunday but, they didn't manage to convert any of them into goals.

Bradley Barcola and Alexander Isak both kept coming up short which, for a duo who cost almost £250 million between them, is far from ideal.

This is why fans can't wait for Hugo Ekitike to return as, before he got injured last term, he was easily the Reds' best attacker and managed to convert almost every chance he was given.

But, now that he's not been available for a while, the cracks among Liverpool's attack are really starting to show.

In fact, after their defeat against Arsenal on Sunday, Iraola even said himself that his men should have done a lot better with the chances that they had.

"We had big chances. Cross bar, real big chances. We should have scored, and had enough to score today," he said in quotes relayed by Anfield Sector.

Federico Chiesa could help Liverpool convert their chances more often

Among their ranks, Liverpool have a fair few forgotten players.

However, none are as forgotten as Federico Chiesa. The Italian was brought in by Liverpool during Arne Slot's first season in charge with fans thinking that his £10 million fee was the bargain of the century.

But, after he returned from his ACL tear at Juventus, he was just never the same player which is why the Italian giants were probably so keen to get rid of him.

Now that he's back fit, fans thought Iraola would at least give him a chance to prove his worth but, he's not been given that privilege yet.

However, even though this hasn't happened yet, it doesn't mean that he still doesn't have stuff to offer Liverpool.

Throughout his career, he's bagged 83 goals and, the fact that he can play anywhere across the front three is another massive selling point.

Right now, Iraola is clearly trying to find his best front three so, even just giving Chiesa the chance to prove his worth could help him get closer to that.

Here's hoping that, before the January transfer window comes around, the Italian is given a chance.
