Fabrizio Romano confirms Juventus move for £160k per week Liverpool favourite
On Sunday Liverpool waved goodbye to two of their all-time greats.
We saw Mohamed Salah and Andy Robertson bid farewell to Anfield after their glorious, trophy-laden spells.
Salah and Robertson have been mainstays of the Reds’ successes over the best part of the last decade.
But time waits for no man.
Salah reached an agreement to rip up his £400k per week contract one year early - and it’s not yet certain where the 33-year-old will end up.
Robertson was informed by the club that they would not be offering him a new contract with his previous deal expiring in summer 2026.
Tottenham back in for Robertson
It would have been a surprise for Richard Hughes to extend that deal - worth a reported £160k per week - considering Robbo had slipped behind Milos Kerkez in the Anfield left-back pecking order.
But Robertson, 32, still has plenty left in the tank judging by his performances under Arne Slot in the 2025/26 season.
He was close to agreeing a move to Tottenham in January for a cut-price £5m - but Liverpool could not source a replacement in the squad and so the deal was cancelled.
Spurs are right back in the hunt however with reports suggesting the Lilywhites have an agreement to sign Robertson on a free.
Now that their place in the Premier League is guaranteed Roberto De Zerbi’s side can set about their planning for next season.
Fabrizio Romano confirms Juventus are moving for Robertson
However the North London side are now going to have to pay attention to Juventus as the Serie A side plot a move for the Scotland captain.
That’s according to Fabrizio Romano on X - with the Italian transfer genius claiming that the choice is now in Robertson’s hands.
“Tottenham have been in advanced talks for weeks with Andy Robertson over free transfer, deal close,” he writes.
“Juventus have also entered the race and trying to hijack the move with a proposal.
“Decision up to Robertson now.”
Robertson joined Liverpool back in 2017 from Hull City for a bargain £8m - going on to star alongside Trent Alexander-Arnold under Jurgen Klopp.
He’s won all there is to win throughout his time at Anfield - including two Premier Leagues, the rest of the domestic cups, as well as the Champions League and FIFA Club World Cup.
No doubt another top team will get plenty out of Robertson - with Richard Hughes and Arne Slot hoping they won’t be made to regret this transfer decision.
