An African duo is heading to Liverpool, it's all been agreed.

Liverpool has a rich history with the continent of Africa. Arguably, two of the club's greatest ever players of the Jurgen Klopp era were both stars of Africa.

Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah played a key role in delivering trophies and indelible memories to the club's fans over the course of their time together at Anfield.

They were also two of the biggest faces of African football at the time, going head to head against each other in the African Cup of Nations and in the voting for the African Footballer of the Year.

Of course, the club's tradition of employing African footballers goes back a lot further.

Zimbabwean Bruce Grobbelaar became one of the early African stars of the Premier League and South African Gordon Hodgson is Liverpool's fourth top-scorer of all time.

Momo Sissoko, Joel Matip, Kolo Toure, Naby Keita and Titi Camara also represented the Reds and enjoyed success at the club while also endearing themselves to the supporter base at Anfield.

Right now, there actually aren't many African players on the books at the club. In fact the only African player at Liverpool is Mor Talla Ndiaye, who was signed in the January window and has already made a few appearances for Andoni Iraola's senior team.

Soon though the Senegalese youngster could be welcoming more of his fellow peers to the club, including from Senegal with the Reds strong interested in Ibrahim Mbaye.

But it's not just Mbaye who could be on his way to Anfield.

Over the course of the last year, Liverpool have invested a lot in their global youth recruitment. The club has put in a lot of money and have hired a lot of staff in order to make sure they are following talents from across the world.

This is why Ndiaye was recruited and it's why the club is also in talks to sign Diego Pelembe and have already secured the arrival of Sidy Barhama Ndiaye.

Now if the latest reports are to be believed, they could be adding more players to these ranks very soon with two new African sets to arrive at the club in the next week.

According to Zee Sports in Gambia, Liverpool are to welcome the arrival of Musa Jatta and Sheriff Bah.

They are two Gambian footballers who play for BST Academy, who compete in the top flight of Gambian football.

According to our understand, Jatta is a midfielder, meanwhile Bah is a more advanced playmakers who plays as an attacking midfielder.

The report claims that the two of them are going to be heading on trial to the club's academy and participating in training sessions. It has all been agreed and they are now expected to jet out to England.

This is likely after having been identified by the club's global recruitment team as players who could be good enough to make the move to Anfield.

It's important to note that currently Liverpool only have one ESC slot, and neither of these players would qualify for a work-permit.

So, if they are to be signed, then they are going to have to be loaned out, just as Ifeanyi Ndukwe is now in the process of finding a temporary club as well.
