Liverpool have been linked with an awful lot of players since the 2026-27 summer transfer window slammed shut.

In fact, even during the window, it felt impossible to go a day without the Reds being linked with a new player.

And, while four new faces were welcomed through the Anfield doors, Liverpool's fanbase expected a lot more from their recruitment team.

It was clear from their fifth-place finish last term that a lot of work needed to be done to their squad and, since only four players were brought in, the changes that were made weren't enough for fans.

So, this cause many different rumours to emerge with some players being linked with Liverpool long-term.

And, now that the deadline isn't hanging over them, Liverpool's recruitment team can take longer to figure out which players they actually want to target.

At the moment, no concrete moves have been made but, if the Reds want to agree a deal for certain players, they'll have to move fast.

Liverpool's potential move for Daniel Banjaqui could become 'complicated'

Liverpool's right-back was one of the worst performing positions among their ranks last season.

The Anfield outfit rarely ever had a natural right-back available to fill the void which led to many questions being asked.

In fact, fans were even demanding that someone such as Denzel Dumfries or Lutsharel Geertruida was bought last January.

That didn't happen in the end which meant Arne Slot had to stick it out and, since that ended up bringing Ronald Araujo to Anfield this season, it was probably a worthwhile sacrifice.

Despite this, many right-backs were still linked and now, thanks to an update from TuttoJuve, one of their right-back targets, Daniel Banjaqui has found his name on the shortlists of Europe's elite with any deal for the 18-year-old considered to be "complicated."

"Juventus is looking to the future and has set its sights on Daniel Banjaqui, a promising right-back from Benfica," they wrote.

"The Portuguese, just 18 years old, has reportedly been included in the list of young talents being monitored by the Bianconeri management, according to tuttojuve.com.

"Competition, however, is already fierce: Chelsea, Liverpool, Borussia Dortmund, and other major European clubs are reportedly interested in the defender. "This could prove complicated, especially if an international auction were to ensue.

"Juventus continues to monitor the international market for young players who represent significant investments for the future. Among the names under observation is Daniel Banjaqui, a 2008-born right-back from Benfica.

"The young Portuguese player is reportedly among the profiles being evaluated by the Bianconeri to strengthen their right flank."

Liverpool must decide whether they want to sign Daniel Banjaqui or not

Banjaqui is a player who's only recently come into the spotlight with Liverpool's interest being long-documented.

The SL Benifca wonderkid got his first taste of professional action from Jose Mourinho last term and, since then, he's managed to make the right-back spot his own.

This season, the defender has played six games across all competitions and, while he's not yet managed to get a goal or assist, last term, he managed six goal contributions.

Obviously, he's still young so he'll need time to develop before he's expected to play two 90 minute matches per week but, with Liverpool's recent transfer strategy being to sign young players with plenty of potential, the Portuguese defender ticks every box.

At the moment, it's unclear how high on Liverpool's shortlist the 18-year-old is but, if they're desperate for him to become a Liverpool player, they're going to have to make their move soon.

Because, if they don't, he'll almost certainly be snapped up by one of the other European giants who are eyeing a move for him.
