An exciting Man City sensation could be Liverpool's very soon.

Let's face it, the Reds were humiliated last weekend as their rivals took them apart. Ryan Gravenberch should never have been sent off.

His second yellow card was harsh, and the first one wasn't even a yellow - he barely made contact with his opponent.

But what transpired after Liverpool went down to 10-men was difficult to witness. The Reds lost their spine, they lost their control and they completely capitulated.

It was horrible to witness. That is one of those games you just simply never want to watch again. It's a game you want to forget about because everything that could have gone wrong, did go wrong in the end.

But there is a silver lining hanging in the air. Retribution could be around the corner.

Liverpool's fury with Man City could be coming to an end

Ultimately, the Premier League have confirmed that an independent panel has found Man City guilt of 114 charges against them. This is pending an appeal by Man City who insist they are not guilty.

The appeal process is not expected to take too long, so one way or another we are going to come to a conclusion. Right now, what's happening to City is extremely damaging to their reputation.

If they firmly believe they are innocent of all charges, they will want to clear their name. And when they do, Liverpool will not be able to begrudge them.

However, as things stand at the moment. With the guilty verdict, there are many Liverpool supporters who feel betrayed. Liverpool have fought City hard over the years and have come close to winning the Premier League title, only to fall short to Pep Guardiola's side.

That feeling that this was cheated will soon come to an end, one way or another.

Liverpool's golden chance to sign exciting defender

Now, Man City are stacked in the defensive department - particularly in the centre-back role. Josko Gvardiol, Marc Guehi, Vitor Reis, Abdukodir Khusanov and Juma Bah are all talented centre-backs, who are very young and who were signed for a lot of money.

Even if the club isn't guilty, they won't be able to facilitate more defenders for the long-term.

And if they are found guilty, the prospect of them being demoted to lower leagues is a genuine possible punishment.

It's why some of their academy players may look to move elsewhere. One way or another, their defenders will feel there's a better pathway.

And Liverpool have a golden chance to sign one of them. Stephen Mfuni is on loan at Coventry City, and he is a real sensation who scored his first Premier League goal last weekend.

His brother Josh plays for Liverpool and recently earned a call-up to England's U15 side. Stephen with his ability to be a left-sided centre-back and play as a left-back as well is exactly the position where Liverpool are short of options.

And it's why the Man City sensation may be theirs for the taking. Surely the prospect of joining his brother and having a clear pathway to the first team is very alluring.
