Liverpool timeline set to complete €58m deal

Liverpool's summer transfer window is going to be a busy one.

The Anfield outfit need to make a lot of changes otherwise they're going to be left even further behind their rivals than they currently find themselves.

That's likely one of the main reasons why so many players have been linked with an Anfield switch this summer.

Almost every day it feels like a new player is linked but now, the transfer of one player could actually be on the cards.

That is, if the Reds manage to figure out a deal during the new timeline that they've been given.

Liverpool will only have 10 days in August to sign Gleison Bremer for €58 million

Juventus' Gleison Bremer has been on Liverpool's transfer shortlist for as long as many can remember.

The Brazilian is easily one of the best centre-backs in the Serie A and, without him, Juventus would've been nowhere near the Champions League spots.

However, since Juventus qualifying for Europe's premier competition still isn't guaranteed, rumours have started to emerge about the future of some of their players, with Bremer the main name on everyone's lips.

The 29-year-old has spent most of his career in the Serie A and, since he's about to enter his 30s, this summer could be his last chance to make a big move.

And, as per an update from La Gazzetta Dello Sport, it feels like Liverpool could have an excellent opportunity on their hands to finally acquire his services.

"Without the Champions League, the Brazilian defender, who at 29 years old does not have a long time horizon to win, will listen to possible offers and make his assessments: Manchester United and Liverpool are on his trail," they wrote.

"Juventus, once the dust settles, might even consider extending his contract beyond the current 2029 deadline and the €58 million release clause, which can be exercised within the first ten days of August.

"Bremer is happy in Turin: he has developed under the Mole and reached the peak of his career in terms of performance and quality.

"But Gleison wants to compete for the highest and most prestigious goals because he is ambitious and aware of his own potential: without the Champions League, the Bianconeri castle is destined to crumble.

Gleison Bremer would be a perfect replacement for Ibrahima Konate

Even though Liverpool would probably want to keep Ibrahima Konate with them for another few seasons, it's starting to feel less likely that an extension will be agreed upon.

The Frenchman has around a month and a half left on his current deal and, even though he's been one of Arne Slot's main starters this season, it feels like he could be allowed to leave for nothing.

In case this happens, Liverpool have already been linked with several centre-backs as potential replacements but, of the lot, Bremer is the stand-out candidate.

He may be 29 years old but his wealth of experience at a top level and the fact that he'd only cost the Reds around £50 million is hard to look past.

Most of the players that the Reds have been linked with, such as Nico Schlotterbeck or Josko Gvardiol would cost much more and potentially not be as good.

Of course, his injury history is a tad worrying but, if Liverpool can meet his release clause, it's something that they should almost certainly do.
