Liverpool's defence have caused some questions to arise this season.

Whether they've failed to meet expectations or made a massive mistake, several questions have been shared about what the future holds for them.

At the moment, Virgil van Dijk, Jeremy Jacquet and Ronald Araujo all have their positions in Andoni Iraola's starting XI fairly locked down but, left-back is a completely different story.

Both Kostas Tsimikas and Milos Kerkez have failed to meet expectations and have made multiple mistakes each this term.

Obviously, this is far from ideal, especially for a team who want to challenge for as many titles as possible.

So, the fact that Liverpool now look ready to sign a new defender is ideal.

Liverpool are ready to go 'all out' for Alejandro Balde

Full-back has been a problem for Liverpool over the last couple of years.

The Anfield outfit lost Trent Alexander-Arnold last summer with Andy Robertson also following him out of the exit doors this summer.

This, coupled with the fact that Conor Bradley and Jeremie Frimpong are both constantly injured causes a major problem for Liverpool.

That's why these latest links from journalist Juan Jesus make a lot of sense.

"Liverpool and AC Milan are going all out for Alejandro Balde. They join Manchester United in the bidding war," he wrote.

"Both Andoni Iraola and Rúben Amorim are fans of the player and believe he would fit perfectly into their respective systems.

"Already open to leaving this winter, Barça has already set his price: the Catalan club is asking for a minimum of 45 million euros to let him go."

Alejandro Balde is a perfect signing for Liverpool

Alejandro Balde is a player who's been linked with Liverpool a lot over the last couple of months.

The left-back has fallen out of favour with Hansi Flick at Barcelona and, because of this, the La Liga giants seem to be willing to get rid of him for a cut-rate fee.

And, while he may be a natural left-back, he's also been used as a right-back in the past which is especially good for Liverpool and their injury prone defenders.

Balde is also only 23 years old so, even though he's already a top notch player, there's plenty of time left in his career for him to become even better.

At the moment, these are all obviously just rumours but, if Liverpool are ready to go all out for the "incredible" left-back, the deal could very well be on.
