Liverpool eyeing move for perfect Premier League sensation
Liverpool have had a bit of a topsy-turvy season thus far.
They may have only lost two games across all competitions but, their performances have been less than ideal.
Andoni Iraola is obviously still trying to figure out who his best starting XI are but, with Hugo Ekitike and Conor Bradley still likely to be out for a while, it's unclear when he's actually going to sort out who his preferred XI are.
And, with the January transfer window now not all that far away, even more changes could be afoot.
This is obviously exciting but, since they've already spent over £600 million across the last couple of seasons, it's unclear how much money Iraola and Julian Ward will actually have to spend.
Liverpool are eyeing a move for Morgan Gibbs-White
Liverpool's midfield has been their major problem area this term.
Dominik Szoboszlai and Ryan Gravenberch may have both been handed bumper new deals last term but, this season, they've failed to live up to the standards expected of them.
Both players have failed to perform well in Iraola's double pivot which has led to Trey Nyoni and Alexis Mac Allister having much more frequent roles.
Florian Wirtz has also been letting Liverpool's first-team squad down which has led to some players such as James McConnell being used in his place.
So, this latest update from Ekrem Konur about the Reds' interest in Morgan Gibbs-White is certainly something that should pique the interest of fans.
"Morgan Gibbs-White is considered one of the most attainable attacking midfield options for Manchester United," he wrote.
"Interest in the Nottingham Forest star remains strong, with Tottenham and Liverpool also keeping a close eye on his situation.
"Within Manchester United's transfer plans, Gibbs-White is viewed as a more realistic target compared to several alternative options."
Morgan Gibbs-White would be a perfect addition for Liverpool
Liverpool's midfield may have been a huge problem for them this season but, their lack of homegrown players is another major issue.
Since the Reds decided to move Caoimhin Kelleher, Jarell Quansah and Tyler Morton on last season, they left themselves a massive void to fill.
A lot of people thought they'd address this issue in the summer but, instead, they signed four non-homegrown players which meant that Federico Chiesa and Wataru Endo both missed out on registration to Liverpool's Champions League squad.
So, adding someone of Gibbs-Whites' calibre to their ranks would be massive.
Because, not only has he been one of Nottingham Forest's best players over the last couple of years but, he's also homegrown which would massively help the Reds out with their registration issues.
Indeed, a deal for the Englishman wouldn't be cheap but, of all the players Liverpool have been linked with recently, the 26-year-old is one of the most exciting options.
