Liverpool and Man United both 'ones to watch' for transfer of €40m gem
Liverpool's first-team squad is expected to change an awful lot this summer.
Victor Munoz is the only player to have been brought in so far but, with the number of players that the Reds are being linked with, it doesn't feel like it'll be too long before a new face comes through the Anfield doors.
Whether it's a defender, a midfielder or another attacker is unknown but, one thing is for sure, some new signings need to be made as soon as possible.
Because, if deals are left until the final days of the transfer window again, it could take Andoni Iraola a while to get his team on the same page which could ruin their chances of bringing the Premier League title back to L4.
Which, after the season that the club have just endured, would be far from ideal.
Liverpool and Manchester United could both make a move for Pierre Kalulu
One of the main areas among Liverpool's ranks that needs upgrading is their defence.
Since Andy Robertson and Ibrahima Konate have both left, there are a couple of massive voids that need to be filled.
And, the fact that Conor Bradley spent more time in the treatment room than he did on the pitch for Liverpool this term is also massively concerning.
Indeed, Arne Slot made the best of a bad situation and often used Dominik Szoboszlai and Curtis Jones to plug the gap but, everyone knows that both of those players are better off when used centrally.
So, the face that La Gazzetta dello Sport have now linked Liverpool with a move for Pierre Kalulu is hardly surprising.
"It's no secret that Juventus needs at least one significant transfer to restore its position after its relegation to the Europa League," they wrote.
"While interest in the main candidates for the move isn't gaining traction (Galatasaray is after Bremer, Barcelona is after Cambiaso), Khephren Thuram has withdrawn from the transfer market due to knee problems: he risks sitting out the entire preseason, including the August tour of China and Australia, as a spectator.
Aside from the untouchable Kenan Yildiz, the two most talked-about Bianconeri players in European circles who are currently at risk of leaving are Francisco Conceicao and Kalulu.
"In other words, if a compelling offer for the French full-back arrives (keep an eye on Manchester United and Liverpool), Juventus now finds itself in a position to sell him without hesitation. Thanks to Celik, the replacement is already in place."
Pierre Kalulu would be an interesting signing for Liverpool
Liverpool's defence was one of their weakest areas last season.
Even though Robertson and Virgil van Dijk both tried their hardest to keep the Reds' defensive line intact, players such as Konate and Kerkez failed to help them achieve this.
There were countless times throughout the 2025-26 campaign when the Reds' defence were the main culprits behind a Liverpool defeat.
So, with that in mind, Liverpool signing Kalulu makes an awful lot of sense.
The Frenchman is a versatile defender who started his career off as a centre-back but, over the last few years, he's slowly been converted into a right-back.
This versatility, coupled with the fact that Juventus have just signed Zeki Celik makes it obvious why the Frenchman's name is being linked with an exit.
Last term the 26-year-old played in 49 games across all competitions for the Old Lady across an array of positions.
During that time, the defender contributed to nine goals with seven of them coming as assists to his teammates.
This creativity coupled with his extensive experience of the Champions League make him an ideal target for Liverpool, especially since the Serie A outfit only want €40 million (£34.5 million) for him.
