English wonderkid could replace Ronaldo Araujo at Liverpool
Ronald Araujo has been an incredible addition to Liverpool.
There was a lot of social media scrutiny when the Reds agreed to sign the Uruguayan. But all those critics who dreaded the prospect of him coming to Anfield are silent now.
Araujo has become a fan favourite. He's someone to adore. Someone to really look up to because of the way he plays with such fervent passion and enthusiasm.
He's the kind of player that every fans wants to see. Liverpool fans would probably prefer to see 11 Araujos on the pitch. Although these kinds of players who give their blood, sweat and tears for the shirt are rare to find.
It still remains to be seen if he's going to be signed permanently by Liverpool. If it was up to the fans, the money would have already been paid to Barcelona by now.
How Araujo has made the right-back role his own
Initially when he arrived everyone presumed Araujo was coming in to play as a centre-back. But then Jeremy Jacquet settled so seamlessly.
At first, it seemed like Araujo would be resigned to a back-up role but then Andoni Iraola started to trial him as a right-back and the switch worked.
He has since made the role his own. Araujo's fervent passion and his ability to win duels makes him a really solid option to have on the right flank.
Given the lack of depth, and Jeremie Frimpong's current niggle alongside Conor Bradley still recovering from his long-term injury, the chance is there for Araujo to make the right-back role his permanent position.
Lenix Conde is coming to replace Araujo in the future
The problem with Araujo is that he does have his limitations. He isn't a natural right-back. He is a natural centre-back. Offensively, he cannot give Iraola what he wants.
Liverpool need someone a bit more dynamic. Someone capable of being defensively solid and offer creativity in attack.
That someone could easily become Lenix Conde. He's the best right-back Liverpool have produced since Trent Alexander-Arnold and the 18-year-old is now starting to catch the eye for the Reds' U18 side.
Composed on the ball, capable of making forward runs and just very sound defensively the English wonderkid looks nailed on to replace Araujo in the coming years ahead if he continues his development in the same trajectory.
Undoubtedly, Iraola will be keeping a close eye on his progress.
