Richard Hughes working on new Liverpool signing right NOW
Richard Hughes is enduring another difficult transfer window.
The current sporting director joined the club last summer from Bournemouth looking to form a formidable partnership off the pitch with Michael Edwards.

However, it has been the complete opposite. The ongoing contract renewal saga involving arguably the Reds' three best players has put a blemish on his reputation at the club.
Even if all three contracts are agreed and the players stay at the club, the damage from the build-up and the time it has taken for these to be signed will have a lasting impact on supporters because truthfully, it has been painful.
If he doesn't succeed, then he will have to redeem himself some other way.
One way would be strengthening the current squad. And there is one player who should be a red-hot target on his radar to join the Reds soon.
Robertson struggles
While the squad overall has been excellent this season with certain individuals standing out from the rest, this has also led other players to stand out; but not in a good way.
Andy Robertson has been an absolute servant for the club. Joining from Hull in 2017, the Scottish international has helped propel Liverpool to the top of the world and earned the respect as one of the best-ever left-backs to grace the Premier League.
However, his form this season has been alarming. He looks well off the pace, lunging into poor challenges, making silly decisions and mistakes which, ultimately, have cost Liverpool points.
Hughes eyeing new left-back
A new left-back should be considered by Hughes and his team and a recent article from Paul Joyce in the Times confirms this.
“Andrew Robertson will be 31 in March and Kostas Tsimikas is not a long-term replacement, so it stands to reason that reinforcements are required in the future.
“The sporting director, Richard Hughes, will be working on that. He knows Milos Kerkez well, having signed him for Bournemouth, and the player now shares the same agent, LIAN Sports Group, as Federico Chiesa. Bayern Munich’s Alphonso Davies, who is out of contract in the summer, has also been linked.”
With Hughes' relationship with Kerkez, the signing makes complete sense. He is obviously admired by a wide number of clubs following his heroics this season so far for the Cherries, but Hughes needs to deliver.
His reputation is currently in limbo. A signing that seems simple and necessary, our fans deserve something to smile about.
