Liverpool have thrown their name into the mix for several players over the last few days.

Although Bradley Barcola has been their main target since Yan Diomande turned them down, the deal has been a slow-burner with Paris Saint-Germain and Liverpool going back and forth many times.

In the end, it finally looks like a deal will be completed but, recent reports have suggested that the overall fee for Barcola could eclipse Alexander Isak's £125 million move last summer.

Obviously, this is another massive risk for Liverpool to take but, the 62 goal contributions that he's had over the last two seasons prove that there's certainly a world class player within him.

However, with how many Liverpool players are currently being linked with an Anfield exit, it doesn't feel like only signing Barcola would be enough.

That's why, the Reds edging closer to getting a deal for an African star over the line could be massive for them.

Crystal Palace are now eyeing moves for two new wingers amid Liverpool's Ismaila Sarr interest

As everyone knows, Liverpool's attack has been a major problem area for them.

Mohamed Salah has left and with Hugo Ekitike's return date not yet set in stone, nobody knows exactly what the Reds' attack is going to look like.

Several new players have been linked with a switch such as Jamie Lewelling, Yankuba Minteh and Ismaila Sarr.

Of the three, Minteh would obviously be everyone's preferred option but, since he's out injured until who knows when, it doesn't really make much sense for Liverpool to splurge the rest of their transfer budget on him yet.

That's why other options have been mooted.

And, even though every club that Liverpool make an enquiry to is playing hard to get, it finally seems like Crystal Palace might be gearing themselves up for Sarr's departure.

That is, if these two recent updates from Pete O'Rourke are to be believed.

"Crystal Palace are eyeing a move for Real Betis attacker Abde Ezzalzouli as a potential replacement for Liverpool target Ismaïla Sarr," he initially shared via X.

Later on, he revisited the subject and shared that Palace were eyeing a move for yet another winger.

"Crystal Palace are considering a move for Lyon winger Malick Fofana to bolster their attacking options. Sunderland are also interested in Fofana who has already turned down a potential move to Hull."

Ismaila Sarr might not be who Liverpool's fans want but he could be who they need

Even though Barcola is on the verge of confirming his Liverpool deal, he's not really a right-winger which, at this moment in time, is exactly what Liverpool need.

Indeed, Cody Gakpo, Rio Ngumoha, Barcola and Victor Munoz can all be used there if needed but, if the Reds want to get back to their best and start challenging for silverware again, they need players that they know can make a difference and play on the right-wing.

Of course, Iraola will want all of his attackers to be able to play across the front three but, they still need specialist players in certain positions.

And, since Salah has left and any new attackers will be expected to fill the void left by the Egyptian King, they a massive gap to fill.

Sarr isn't the most exciting right-winger that Liverpool have been linked to this summer but, since negotiations have taken so long for players such as Barcola, they're running out of time to get their squad depth sorted.

The 28-year-old has plenty of Premier League experience under his belt and, even though Sarr is a fair bit older than the Reds' recent transfer targets, his experience could be vital.

He's quick, versatile and knows where the goal is which, after Liverpool's first two Premier League outings of the season, is exactly the type of player they need to add to their ranks.

Here's hoping that these deals all get ironed out as soon as possible so that Iraola can get his men on track and back towards the top of the Premier League.
