Liverpool only have a couple of weeks left to finalise their first-team squad.

The Reds performed well under their expectations last term as they only managed to finish fifth in the Premier League.

Indeed, they did manage to get to the round of 16 in the Champions League but, the same outcome as the 2024-25 campaign occurred where the eventual winners, Paris Saint-Germain, knocked them out.

This made fans demand that deals for players to come and go were struck and, with just a couple weeks now left of the window, Andoni Iraola's squad is still nowhere near finalised.

Obviously, this is far from ideal, especially if the Reds are wanting to try and get back to the top and add a trophy or two to their cabinet.

However, it seems like they're not done with moving players on either with the latest news to emerge from Anfield about the future of some players now being shared.

Kieran Morrison is wanted by Bristol City and Wolfsburg

At the moment, Liverpool have a lot of young players among their ranks with plenty of potential.

Rio Ngumoha is obviously the pick of the bunch but others such as Trey Nyoni and Kieran Morrison have also heavily featured in the Reds' pre-season.

And, while Nyoni looks likely to be given a major role by Iraola this season, Morrison is set to be loaned out.

Many different clubs have been linked with an interest in the midfielder and now, journalist Pete O'Rourke has shared an update on the Northern Irishman's future.

"Liverpool winger Kieran Morrison is a target for Bristol City and Wolfsburg on loan," he shared via X.

Kieran Morrison could do with getting a year of senior football under his belt

At times during pre-season, Morrison has looked like the real deal.

The 19-year-old has featured in many different positions for Liverpool with Iraola clearly seeing him as more of an attacker than a midfielder at the moment.

This obviously makes a lot of sense as, at the moment, Florian Wirtz, Harvey Elliott and Dominik Szoboszlai can all be used as Liverpool's number 10.

However, on the right, the Anfield outfit still haven't managed to replace Mohamed Salah.

Federico Chiesa, Lewis Koumas and Jeremie Frimpong have all been rumoured to play there for Liverpool this season but, on the face of things, it's clear that none of these players are going to be able to plug the gap that the Egyptian King has left.

Of course, changes could be made such as Ibrahim Mbaye and Bradley Barcola being brought in but, if Morrison gets a decent chunk of experience this term, he could come back next season and fight for his place in Iraola's squad.

This would make a lot of sense as, with Arne Slot in charge, Liverpool barely played any young talent but, with how well Iraola developed youngsters at Bournemouth, it's clear that they're going to be a big part of his plans.

Here's hoping that a deal for Morrison is agreed soon so that he can focus on developing his game, rather than where his next club is going to be.
