Bradley Barcola has packed his bags: Ready to jet out for nine-figure deal

Liverpool are in the hunt to sign Bradley Barcola from Paris Saint-Germain.

The 2024/25 Premier League champions retain an interest in the 23-year-old stretching all the way back through this summer’s transfer window.

Richard Hughes has so far been unable to come to terms with PSG over an acceptable package for the France winger. The two-time European champions’ valuation of Barcola looks excessive - especially for a player with only two years on his contract.

There are positive signs however with PSG’s asking price dropping in recent days from £140m to around £120m per various reports.

Liverpool unable to meet Barcola demands

But that’s still a little rich for the Reds’ sporting director’s tastes - and so far negotiations have not proven fruitful. Dragging this move out any longer is very risky for the Merseysiders - as they do not boast a clear run at Barcola.

Arsenal have got money burning a hole in their pockets following a failed bid to attract Vinicius Junior from Real Madrid. Having sold Leandro Trossard to Besiktas the English champions are also in the process of shifting Gabriel Martinelli to Al-Hilal.

That will create significant space in the squad to accommodate Barcola and a report from Foot Parisien is now claiming that the Frenchman is coming around to the idea of a move to the Gunners.

Barcola warming up to Arsenal move

“Bradley Barcola has packed his bags; he's ready to leave,” the report reads.

“And if Liverpool throws in the towel, a plan B in the form of Arsenal could emerge.

“The Gunners are selling Gabriel Martinelli to Saudi Arabia and are therefore able to reinvest a significant sum before Sunday.

“While Barcola's priority is Liverpool, the Parisian wouldn't be opposed to an English adventure in London.”

Move fast, Richard Hughes!

This is a huge warning sign for Richard Hughes and Liverpool. Time and again they have missed out on targets this summer - not least in the case of Yan Diomande.

They are dragging their feet yet again over meeting PSG’s asking price and have a worrying lack of options in the market if this one doesn’t get over the line.

Even worse they will be providing Arsenal with a very strong player and one who surely improves their attack.

And while the player is thought to prefer Anfield he will be receptive to the idea of a transfer to north London should no deal with Andoni Iraola’s side be concluded.
