Andoni Iraola still has a lot of work to do at Liverpool.

The Spaniard may have been the main driving force behind Victor Munoz's transfer but, since then, talk about anymore potential deals has ran dry.

Of course, new names are being linked with an Anfield switch almost every day but, in terms of concrete moves, nothing like that has happened for some time in L4.

The Reds are in need of a rebuild once again, and, without bringing another three or four players in, it's hard to see how they'll be able to do that.

However, with new arrivals, there's always bound to be some exits and, even though the club can't really afford to lose anyone, several players have already been rumoured to be on their way out.

And now, a fresh update has emerged from Italy which could really cause the Reds some major stress.

Alisson could still end up joining Juventus this summer

Even though Alisson spent a lot of the 2025-26 season in the treatment room, during the games that he featured in, he was one of Liverpool's most important players.

Ever since he made the switch to Anfield, he's helped them win several games and even titles thanks to his excellent performances.

This form has rarely gone unnoticed and, before he signed his contract extension, the 33-year-old was being linked with an exit.

Luckily, the Reds shut down those rumours by extending his contract but, that still didn't stop Juventus from agreeing terms with the 'keeper.

Talks between Liverpool and Juve were expected to start but, after Ibrahima Konate's exit was finalised, the Reds performed a U-turn and chose to keep Alisson around.

However, a fresh update from journalist Mirko Di Natale has shared that the Brazilian could still be on Liverpool's chopping block.

"Juve, Goalkeeper Chapter," he wrote via his personal X account.

"Guglielmo Vicario holds firm as an option, but the deal is only possible on a permanent basis (loan with obligation).

"Keep an eye on Alisson from Liverpool, a trail that could dramatically reopen if Iraola were to relegate him to the backup role behind Mamardashvili.

"Juve had already reached a preliminary agreement with the player on the financial terms."

Alisson is the last player Liverpool should be looking to move on

If Giorgi Mamardashvili's performances during the 2025-26 season weren't enough to convince Liverpool that they need to keep Alisson then that is rather mental.

Mamardashvili featured in 20 games across all competitions for Liverpool last term and he only managed to keep three clean sheets.

The Georgian also conceded 34 goals in those games which is an awful return.

Of course, you expect 'keepers to concede more goals than games they play but, even when he kept a clean sheet, it was clear that he wasn't ready to be the Reds' number one.

His distribution and shot-stopping are both lacklustre which, for a 'keeper, are two rather important things.

Alisson is 10 times the player Mamardashvili is and, since he doesn't have all that long left on his Liverpool contract, any team that wants to sign him won't want pay over the odds.

And, since the Serie A's clubs are some of the most cash-strapped in the top five leagues, selling Alisson is never going to be worthwhile for Liverpool.

There's obviously no knowing what plans Iraola and Richard Hughes are drawing up this summer but, if any of them include selling Alisson, they need to rethink and have a long and hard look at themselves.
