Liverpool star now 'happy' to stay at Anfield despite interest from Euro giants

A lot of Liverpool's players have already been linked with exits this summer.

After they only managed to finish fifth in the Premier League last term, it's clear that plenty of change is needed.

Andoni Iraola being appointed as the Reds' new boss is obviously the ideal way to start the changes off at Anfield but, if they want to get back to their best, it feels like four or five more players still need to be brought in.

However, in order for Liverpool to do this, there are bound to be some sales even though the Reds' squad depth is already thin as it is.

And, the fact that clubs know that the Anfield outfit are a sell-to-buy club means that they'll be trying to sign their players for most of the summer.

This could lead to Liverpool being forced into accepting deals for players that they don't want to move on but, luckily for them, it seems like one of their many players who have been linked with a move away is actually happy to stay in L4 rather than move on.

Alisson is happy to stay at Liverpool despite the interest shown in him by Juventus

Alisson has undoubtedly been one of Liverpool's best players over the last couple of years.

The Brazilian may have cost the club around £50 million to sign from AS Roma but, in all honesty, it feels like it was one of the best moves that they could have made.

Every time Alisson is in the net, he brings a level of calmness to the team that nobody else can seem to do.

Indeed, his recent injury history is a bit of a worry but, when fit, he's still one of the world's best goalkeepers.

That's why it was hardly surprising to see him being linked with a move to Juventus this summer.

The Old Lady eyed the 'keeper as their dream target with the club even reaching an agreement on personal terms with Alisson.

But, in the end, the deal was ruled out and, although some fans expected Alisson to be upset, a fresh update from WinWin Sports claims otherwise.

"We are not talking or negotiating with any club at the moment," a source shared to the website.

"Alisson is happy at Liverpool, and Liverpool also wants to rely on him and wants him to stay."

Liverpool can focus on other areas of the pitch now Alisson is happy to stay

Juventus' interest in Alisson was shared before the summer transfer window even opened.

After the Serie A outfit failed to qualify for the Champions League, Luciano Spalletti was tasked with rebuilding his entire squad.

The Italian giants stupidly agreed to making Lois Openda's move permanent if they finished in the top 10 of the Serie A and, after he's only managed to score one goal for the Old Lady this term, he feels like a fairly useless addition.

So, to counteract this, Spalletti seems to be targeting older players who he knows will instantly hit the ground running which is why Alisson was on top of his shortlist.

So, while it's bad news for Juventus, it's the best news that Liverpool could have asked for as it means that they can focus their attention on other areas of their squad instead.

James Trafford and Zion Suzuki were linked as potential options to replace Alisson earlier this summer but, unless Giorgi Mamardashvili chooses to pack his bags and exit, it feels like the Reds' goalkeeping department is sorted for the 2026-27 season.

That is, especially now that Armin Pecsi is about to go out on a season-long loan.
