Liverpool ready to sign the next Jeremy Jacquet as €50m bid mooted
Jeremy Jacquet has easily been one of Liverpool's best signings this season.
Even though the Anfield outfit confirmed his deal during the January transfer window, he only just joined up with the Reds' first-team squad during their 2026-27 pre-season games.
Before he proved how good he actually was, many people were questioning whether he'd have what it takes to replace Ibrahima Konate and, even though we're only seven games into the Premier League season, he seems like an instant upgrade.
The way that he carries himself on the pitch and the way that he faces off with opponents has helped stabilise their back line massively.
Of course, since he's only 21 years old, he's bound to make the odd mistake but, 90 per cent of the time, he's been one of Liverpool's best defenders.
So, the fact that Julian Ward could be about to bring in the next version of the Frenchman to Anfield is hugely exciting.
Finn Jeltsch could be Liverpool's next Jeremy Jacquet if they sign him
The improvement of Liverpool's defence has been a main topic of conversation at Anfield over the last few years.
And, while they seem to be in a good place now, with the contracts of Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Kostas Tsimikas all expiring in June 2027, their entire back line could end up looking completely different by the start of next season.
Obviously, with each of those three players now in their thirties, changes are going to have to be made at one point or another but, doing it all at once could be massively detrimental.
This was proven last term after over £450 million was spent on new players by Liverpool who ended up finishing fifth in the Premier League.
But, the fact that the Reds are now being linked with VfB Stuttgart defender Finn Jeltsch is rather exciting.
Why Finn Jeltsch is the next Jeremy Jacquet
Jeltsch is probably a player that most Liverpool fans won't have heard of.
But, as Jacquet has shown, this isn't necessarily a bad thing.
Coming to the Premier League was a massive step-up from Ligue 1 for the young Frenchman and, somehow, he's managed to become even better than he already was,
This is why, Jeltsch, who currently plays for Stuttgart, would be an excellent signing for Liverpool.
Supposedly, the Reds are willing to pay around €50 million for the 20-year-old German and, from his statistics, he looks like a carbon copy of Jacquet.
So, these statistics, coupled with the price that Liverpool want to pay for Jeltsch, make it feel like he could very easily become Liverpool's next Jacquet.
That is, even if he is only a year younger than the former Rennes star.
