Liverpool are preparing a huge transfer announcement within days.

Liverpool are going through a major transition as the club looks to move on from the players who helped deliver one of the most successful periods in its modern history and replace them with a new generation capable of carrying that success forward.

The changing of the guard has been happening for a while. The departures of Sadio Mané, Roberto Firmino and Trent Alexander-Arnold marked the start of a new era at Anfield, but they were only the first pieces of a much bigger overhaul.

The transformation has extended beyond the playing squad as well. Arne Slot has departed and been replaced by Andoni Iraola, whose arrival signals a fresh direction for the club both on and off the pitch.

More familiar faces have also moved on this summer. Mohamed Salah, Ibrahima Konaté and Andy Robertson have all left, bringing an end to another chapter in Liverpool's recent history.

And the changes may not stop there. Virgil van Dijk and Alisson Becker remain two of the most influential figures at the club, but both are approaching the latter stages of their Liverpool careers. Whether their departures come this summer or next, Liverpool know they must start preparing for life after two players who have been central to the club's success.

For those in charge at Anfield, the challenge now is ensuring the next generation is ready to step up and write its own chapter in Liverpool's history.

It's why Liverpool are heading into what could be one of their biggest summers in years, and there's a growing sense that the club could look very different by the time the new season begins.

By bringing in Iraola they've backed one of the most highly-rated young coaches in European football. Given the work he did at Bournemouth, it's easy to understand why.

Iraola transformed Bournemouth into one of the Premier League's most exciting teams to watch. His side played with confidence, energy and a clear identity, often causing problems for teams with far bigger budgets and stronger squads on paper.

That's what makes his arrival so intriguing from a Liverpool perspective. His teams are known for their relentless pressing, quick transitions and high-intensity football. They play on the front foot, look to win the ball back quickly and make life uncomfortable for opponents.

For many supporters, it's a style that feels perfectly suited to Liverpool. In fact, some would argue it closely resembles the qualities that made the club so successful during its best years in recent memory.

Naturally, the impact won't just be seen on matchdays. New training methods, fresh tactical ideas and different demands on players are all likely to come with Iraola's arrival as he looks to put his own stamp on the squad.

To do that he needs his own players, and work is already underway in order to reshape the squad.

The first arrival of the summer could be announced within days, and it's a massive one. Florian Pletteberg reports that Liverpool will announce the arrival of this week, which could mean either Friday, Saturday or Sunday.

Munoz is going to be a massive signing. It's one that no one saw coming, but yet is very exciting, given the way he plays and how it's a deal that came out of nowhere.

24 hours ago nobody would have even know that Munoz was on Liverpool's radar. And then suddenly comes Fabrizio Romano and co. and Liverpool agree a deal and a medical.

It's all happened so fast. It will be interesting to see what kind of confirmation we get. First interview and things like that may only happen later given Munoz is still with Spain at the World Cup in North America.

But one thing is clear, this is just the beginning. Liverpool's work this summer has only just begun. There will be more announcements on the way.
