Sensational English left-back confirms he's ready to join Liverpool

But victory tastes even sweeter when you've had to grind through the difficult times in order to achieve that success.

Sometimes, the journey towards glory is the best part. The good old days under Jurgen Klopp were the beginning. Those first successes and milestones.

Lifting the Premier League and the Champions League, after so much defeat and disappointment happened along the way.

Now, Andoni Iraola is trying to do something similar. Expectations are high, but people should also remember how long it took for Klopp to get to the pinnacle of the sport again.

It takes time and patience.

Andoni Iraola's problem in the full-back department

One of the biggest issues Iraola is facing early on in his Liverpool career is the lack of depth at his disposal at full-back. He doesn't really have a lot of recognised full-backs, and the ones he does (mostly) don't really suit his style.

For example, Jeremie Frimpong just cannot be relied upon defensively when playing that role. But Ronald Araujo while great isn't necessarily a good player going forward.

On the other side Kostas Tsimikas is clearly out of form and lacking in confidence. He has been a great servant for Liverpool but he isn't quite at the level the team needs him to be at right now.

Milos Kerkez has been in and out of form but he is still young and Iraola already knows how to get the best of him so he can still be valuable for Liverpool.

Archie Brown confirms he's ready to join Liverpool

Liverpool are searching the market for defensive solutions.

One of them, according to TEAMtalk, who the Reds are monitoring is Archie Brown.

The English left-back has three goal contributions in four matches in the Champions League this season and he does look like an interesting profile.

He looked impressive coming up against Victor Munoz in the Champions League tie between the two sides. His performance confirmed he would absolutely be ready to join the Reds.

Brown scored and registered an assist in a terrific performance. He also looked compose on the ball, making seven passes into the final third.

At 24-years-old he looks like a perfect all-round left-back. Someone who is ready to join the Reds and provide competition for Kerkez's spot. Someone who also very much suits Iraola's philosophy.

So perhaps he is a name to keep a close eye on.
