Liverpool enter pole position for 'generational' star after Arne Slot sack
Liverpool fans will have woken up on Sunday morning with the world feeling a little brighter.
Arne Slot may have given the Reds a Premier League title last season but, after the performances his team put in during the 2025-26 campaign, it was clear that his time at Anfield was up.
The Dutchman failed to defend the top flight title despite being allowed to spend over £450 million on new players to bolster his ranks.
Although there was talk of Slot staying in charge of the Reds for another campaign with rumours about some of his transfer targets even being shared.
But, now that he's actually gone, there's not all that long before a decision needs to be made about their next manager.
And, with that will come plenty more transfer rumours and links, with the club even potentially entering pole position for one of their reported targets now that Slot has exited.
Liverpool enter pole position for Eli Junior Kroupi transfer
Eli Junior Kroupi has been one of the break-out stars of the Premier League this season.
The Frenchman has played as Bournemouth's number 10 as well as their number nine and has arguably been one of their most important players.
He's scored 13 Premier League goals and, despite being just 19 years old, he's been seen as one of the Premier League's best strikers this term.
Thanks to his recent form, several top-class clubs, including Liverpool, have been linked with a move for him but, since Andoni Iraola is the leading candidate to take over from Slot, it feels like the Reds could have a bit of an advantage over their rivals in the transfer chase.
A fee worth around £80 million is what would be required to prise him away from The Vitality, but, since he's already proven that he can do it in the Premier League, it feels like that would be a good deal for the 'generational talent.'
Andoni Iraola could persuade his former player to join him at Liverpool
Bournemouth took Liverpool right until the final day to see who would qualify for the Champions League.
The Cherries have had one of the most underrated seasons of all the Premier League teams with Iraola's tactics and decisions being one of the key reasons behind that.
However, if Iraola does choose to join Liverpool, he has a lot of decisions to make and another massive rebuild on his hands.
The Reds may have spent a decent chunk of change last summer but, it feels like another £450 million needs to be spent in order to get Liverpool back to their best.
However, if the Spaniard could convince Kroupi to join Liverpool, it would certainly put them on the right track and add even more firepower to their ranks.
Liverpool's main goal in the market is to sign young players with plenty of potential so that they can grow with the club.
And, if we're being honest, there isn't really a better player to fulfil those terms than Kroupi, especially after his debut campaign in the Premier League.
Here's hoping that Richard Hughes and Iraola can work their magic and convince the Frenchman to join.
