Fabrizio Romano confirms Liverpool approach for Real Madrid star

Fabrizio Romano has confirmed it: Liverpool made an approach for a Real Madrid star. It could escalate from here.

Liverpool got quite a lot of business done in the summer but there's certainly a sense that they didn't get everything they wanted. No midfielder arrived, for instance, despite a clear need to sign one - but we're hopeful that will get fixed in 2027.

Mohamed Salah left without a replacement, too, as Liverpool failed to land a right-winger. That's something they'll now battle for the remainder of the campaign thanks to a surplus of left-wing options.

Someone will essentially play out of position every week. It's a problem that Liverpool will absolutely have to solve in 2027 and the rebuild of their forward line has to continue, even after incredibly expensive signings.

But then, they knew that.

Fabrizio Romano confirms Endrick approach

Liverpool quite clearly knew that their attacking options weren't up to scratch because Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that an approach was made to sign Endrick. The Real Madrid forward was always going to struggle for minutes this season and Liverpool tried to take advantage of that.

But Endrick said no. He decided to stay put and it's a decision that has not paid off. He's struggled for minutes, as expected, and now reports suggest he could move out on loan in January.

We're enormous fans of Endrick, though. The news that Liverpool did try to sign him in the summer is fantastic, quite honestly, and we can't imagine that interest fades next year.

Endrick is pretty much exactly he kind of player that Liverpool need. He's a goalscorer but also a creative force - a player who can create on his own through dribbling the ball, and his profile is quite Roberto Firmino-like.

We feel, given the players Liverpool have up top, that such a player would fit in fantastically well. Perfectly, even.

“Then there was also interest from Liverpool," Romano told his YouTube channel. "Liverpool were keen on Endrick, but that’s it – they never presented any sort of proposal.

“Liverpool were thinking of Endrick, even to buy Endrick at some point. But Real Madrid closed the doors to loan and permanent transfer approaches. For Real Madrid, it was not possible to touch the player."

Well, that's changed. AS are among those claiming that Endrick can now move on and we do expect Liverpool to make an approach for the Brazilian.

The 20-year-old can play on the right or through the middle, after all. Two problem positions for the Reds that they could solve with one wonderfully talented Brazilian.
