Euro giants prepare for exit of 'incredible' Liverpool target after major transfer update

Liverpool have finally confirmed the transfer of Bradley Barcola.

The attacker has been a target for the Reds since May after the Frenchman was left out of Paris Saint-Germain's starting XI for their Champions League final against Arsenal.

The former PSG man is a natural left-winger but, thanks to the way that Luis Enrique uses his attackers, he looks fairly comfortable in every position across the front three.

Barcola's arrival is going to be a huge boost for Liverpool who have struggled to create chances this term.

However, even though the transfer of the Frenchman has finally been announced, some changes still need to be made to Andoni Iraola's squad before they are ready to start fighting for silverware again.

And now, it seems like they've been handed a major boost in their chase for one of their long-term targets.

Liverpool's midfield is probably their weakest area now that Barcola has joined.

Iraola has failed to add any new central midfielders to his ranks with Curtis Jones already packing his bags and exiting for pastures new.

Indeed, Jones' departure has meant that a door has been opened for Trey Nyoni to make an impact but, since he's only 18 years old, it still feels too early to rely on him each week.

This has led fans to demand that a new central midfielder is brought in with many players being mentioned as potential options.

Some names have stuck while others have disappeared into the world.

However, one of the main ones to have stuck around is Lamine Camara and now, thanks to an update from French outlet Onze Mondial, the Reds could be well on their way to securing a deal for the "incredible" midfielder.

"As we were able to confirm, discussions between AS Monaco and Chelsea began a few days ago to try and reach an agreement for the transfer of the 22-year-old Senegalese midfielder," they wrote.

"However, according to our information, negotiations have cooled considerably in recent hours. This has prompted the English club's management to look elsewhere, particularly towards Koné.

"Meanwhile, AS Monaco is making progress in its search for a new midfielder, with Caqueret among its priority targets.

"The French international is on Chelsea's shortlist for a midfielder, in an area that risks being weakened by the loss of Enzo Fernandez. He is not yet the club's priority at this time, but simply one of the contenders. The Blues have a few hours left to decide."

Lamine Camara should be Liverpool's new main priority

With Barcola welcomed through the Anfield doors, Liverpool have plenty of depth among their attack.

Of course, deals for Harvey Elliott, Federico Chiesa and Cody Gakpo could all end up getting pushed through before the September 1 deadline but, for now, it feels like Liverpool's midfield should be the next area that they focus their attention on.

However, one of the Reds' main problems is the lack of non-homegrown spots that they have left in their squad.

With Barcola's arrival, there aren't any free foreign places in Iraola's squad unless someone leaves.

But, for a player of Camara's quality, it certainly feels like it would be worth sacrificing someone for him.

The Senegal international is only 22 years old and is easily one of AS Monaco's best players.

And, since the Ligue 1 outfit only want around £38 million for him, he'd be an absolute steal, especially since the Reds are willing to pay around £30 million to KRC Genk for 18-year-old 'keeper, Lucca Brughmans.
