Liverpool are yet to find their best form under Andoni Iraola.

The Reds start to the season has lacked consistentcy, and it is hard to accurately predict how the rest of the campaign may unfold.

A title challenge is clearly unrealistic, but inconsistency from several individuals is beginning to cost Liverpool in matches they should be winning.

One of the individuals singled out for criticism in recent weeks has been Milos Kerkez, who has so far failed to adequately fill the void left by Andy Robertson's departure.

A string of frustrating displays has led to talk of the Hungarian being replaced at Anfield, but a fresh report has offered some clarity on Kerkez's future.

Milos Kerkez looks set to stay at Anfield

The 22-year-old is still a very raw prospect, with glimpses of greatness occasionally shining through in the fullback's high-energy game.

Having played under Iraola at Bournemouth too, the left-back is very familiar with the current regime at Anfield but is still struggling to show the level that he achieved on the south coast.

Recent performances have led some fans to write off the Hungarian, calling for him to be replaced in the January window, but that doesn't seem likely.

That's according to a report from Football Insider, which has reaffirmed Iraola's support for Kerkez and ruled out the Spaniard moving on from his current first choice left-back this winter.

Iraola is reportedly a big fan of Kerkez, and has been backed to get the Hungary international back to his best at Anfield.

If Iraola is sticking by Kerkez, it feels very unlikely that Julian Ward will try and shop the left-back out and so a winter departure seems to be off the cards.

Kerkez will need to improve in the coming months to secure his place at Anfield ahead of the 2027/28 season however, and Liverpool will continue to assess potential options in case the decision is made to move on from the Hungarian.
