Liverpool are moving to complete a double deal with PSG.

The French giants have been a thorn in the Reds' side over the last few years. They have caused successive eliminations from the Champions League, and have also taken one of Liverpool's primary targets Khvicha Kvaratskhelia back in the January window of 2025.

PSG were going to take Yan Diomande as well, who chose the French giants over Liverpool. But in the end, PSG were gazumped there by Real Madrid.

Even the Ivorian could not reject the allure of the Spanish giants. Obviously, that deal is now slowing down a little bit and it remains to be seen what happens to Diomande with there being some issues over who actually are his representatives.

Liverpool have moved on from the Ivorian though.

They are now targeting Bradley Barcola and looking to strike back to the French giants by pulling off a huge deal to capture one of the best young wingers on the planet right now.

But it's not an easy deal to pull off. PSG don't need the money, and they don't need to worry about financial stuff like what happens if they lose Barcola on a free when his contract expires.

They are not forced to act which means Liverpool are going to have to offer a crazy figure in order to land the French talent.

It looks like Liverpool are trying to make it work. Barcola is very keen on the offer and he wants to establish himself as a star at Anfield where he can step-up from his peripheral role at PSG.

His style of play is well-suited to Andoni Iraola's fast-paced and heavy pressing style.

But PSG will hold out for only a ludicrous sum and having followed Liverpool for decades we know how sometimes these negotiations can end negatively.

Liverpool have never been afraid of walking away from a deal. Sometimes misfortune can also strike just as it did with Nabil Fekir or Marc Guehi.

Nevertheless, Liverpool are at least making moves and trying to make the deal happen. On this front at the very least Richard Hughes seems to have been active all throughout the summer.

But Barcola may not be the only PSG transfer the Liverpool sporting director is after. In fact, the Reds could pull off an incredible double deal if the latest report is to be believed.

According to DaveOCKOP, Liverpool are also interested in Ilya Zabarnyi of PSG. The report claims Liverpool have held talks with his representatives recently and it would make a lot of sense.

Liverpool desperately need defensive reinforcements. Zabarnyi is a talented young defender, who has been a little unfortunate not to be a regular starter at PSG.

The Ukranian has still played a key role for PSG in his first season and he's also been phenomenal at Bournemouth under Iraola, where Hughes was the one who identified him from Ukraine and brought him to the Premier League.

Zabarnyi is still only 23-years-old. His experience at his age would make him an ideal addition alongside the likes of Jeremy Jacquet and Giovanni Leoni.

He is the kind of player who Liverpool will know would elevate the team and provide much needed depth.

And in the process, alongside Barcola, Liverpool could be looking to complete an incredible double deal from the current Champions League winners.

It's the kind of move that could redeem Hughes' status at the club, and ensure he would leave with his legacy untarnished come the end of the window, when as expected he will join Al Hilal in Saudi Arabia.
