Wow, they are here! The new Roberto Firmino and Mo Salah have arrived
A new duo are on the scene, replicating Mo Salah and Roberto Firmino.
Things were different when you tuned into every Liverpool match and these two would be lining up for the Reds.
Firmino smiling pearly whites glaring up at the screen. His twinkle touches and mesmerising movements. Combine that with his silky skills and tireless running.
The Brazilian made things look simple. But he was the glue in the spine of Jurgen Klopp's team. Without Firmino, there is simply no Liverpool success.
Mo Salah is the same. He was different. Explosive and clinical. Unplayable in his prime. Salah was very much the star of the team. The Egyptian King, who we all adored and loved.
He broke records and became one of the most important faces of the club's history in the modern era.
Liverpool's attack miss Firmino and Salah
The most free-flowing attacking football the Reds played was when both of them were still at the club. Firmino departed in 2023, and then Salah has followed this summer.
Liverpool have some exciting attackers. Expensive attackers, too. They have all proven themselves at the highest level.
But the reality is that what we have seen (so far) is nowhere near at the same level as Salah and Firmino. Sure, Alexander Isak is scoring a lot of goals.
Bradley Barcola has moments of flair, and Rio Ngumoha is an extremely tricky winger. Meanwhile, Victor Munoz is hard to contain when he's playing his best football.
However, the chemistry between them just isn't there yet. Over time, it might be. Andoni Iraola is undoubtedly working on that in the training ground.
The new Firmino and Salah have arrived
Naturally, Liverpool's recruitment team will also be continuously looking at the market. If things don't work out, you can always replace players and bring new ones in.
A team is never complete. Not in modern football. You constantly have to evolve and give new arsenal to your managers.
Two players who Liverpool might be looking at are Nico Paz and Anastasios Douvikas.
The former has 14 goal contributions in 13 matches this season. Meanwhile, the latter has 12 in 14 matches.
Both are playing for Como at the moment, and recently, they achieved a feat that only Salah and Firmino have done together in the past.
According to WhoScored, Douvikas and Paz are the first teammates to both achieve a 10.0 match rating in the same UEFA Champions League fixture since April 2018 when Salah and Firmino achieved that feat against AS Roma.
Perhaps, it's time to bring both of them to Anfield.
