Liverpool have signed a future best in the world, he's quite something.

Richard Hughes will get a lot of flak for his time at Anfield. Let's be honest, he didn't do a great job. But with hindsight, perhaps at some point down the line we may even be calling him a genius again.

The truth is he left a messy squad upon the end of his tenure. There were even murmurs that he was working on Al Hilal deals while still under the club's employ.

But Hughes also signed a lot of exciting players on paper. He got the deal over the line for Alexander Isak, Florian Wirtz and Hugo Ekitike just to name a few players.

He brought in big players for big money and made us all excited.

It wasn't just that. Hughes also recruited mostly young players. The new signings he secured were not just for the now but also for the long-term.

Take a look at Jeremy Jacquet. Not only is he a brilliant addition to the team for the present moment but he is also someone who will hopefully represent the future of the club.

Jacquet is the kind of player who could be a future stalwart in the backline.

And Hughes' recruitment of centre-backs does deserve a special mention. Not only did he sign Jacquet, he brought in Giovanni Leoni and Mor Talla Ndiaye.

As well as Ifeanyi Ndukwe.

With those four, Liverpool's future at the back seems set.

We've seen how good Jacquet has been for the Reds but we also saw how good Ndukwe was, who the Reds signed earlier on in the year back in January.

The Austrian showcased his quality in pre-season. He was probably one of the best players on tour of the United States, and it's scary to think what kind of potential he might have.

Ndukwe has everything. He is fast, and he is 6'7 tall. He reads the game very well and he's comfortable on the ball as well.

Against Villareal, he showcased just how good he can be on his most significant cameo to date for Levante.

Ndukwe at 18-years-old, has all the potential to be a future best in the world. It was another Hughes masterstroke to sign him. The kind of thing he might be lauded for in the future.
