The Spaniard has earned widespread praise for the work he has done at Bournemouth. Not only has he transformed them into one of the Premier League's most exciting teams to watch, but he has also guided them into European competition, underlining the remarkable progress made under his leadership. Given that success, it is hardly surprising that Liverpool are monitoring him closely.

In many respects, Iraola represents the type of manager modern supporters naturally gravitate towards. His teams play with intensity, aggression and a clearly identifiable style. There is a distinct philosophy behind what they do, whether they have possession or not, and that clarity tends to resonate with both fans and players alike.

Beyond the tactical side of the game, Iraola also projects a personality that feels relatable and grounded. He comes across as approachable and authentic, qualities that can be invaluable when managing a dressing room and building a connection with supporters.

That is an area where Slot occasionally struggled to win over everyone. There is no denying he brought positive qualities to the role, but at times he appeared somewhat detached from the fanbase, and questions often lingered about exactly what kind of football Liverpool were trying to play under his guidance.

Those concerns became more noticeable last season. Too often, Liverpool looked caught between different tactical approaches, never fully committing to a single identity.

One week the team appeared intent on dominating possession, the next it seemed focused on a more transitional style. The result was a lack of consistency that occasionally filtered through into performances and results.

By contrast, one of Iraola's biggest strengths is the clarity of his ideas. His teams know exactly what is expected of them, and that conviction is reflected in the way they play.

With Liverpool seeking a manager capable of restoring a strong footballing identity while bringing excitement back to the pitch, they got the perfect man in Iraola.

The long-missed “heavy metal” football from the Jürgen Klopp era could well make a return. You’d expect a much higher level of intensity, with Liverpool once again playing on the front foot and pressing aggressively.

He’s very clear in how he wants his teams to play and doesn’t really drift away from that idea. He trusts his approach, sticks with it, and isn’t afraid to take risks if he feels it’s the right call.

That kind of conviction could suit Liverpool well.

And as he was confirmed as the club's new manager, Iraola said what everyone wanted to hear.

One of the big disconnects about Slot and his coaching staff was the fact that they had little interest in developing players, particularly the young players at the club.

Iraola on the other hand seemed genuinely excited and relished the prospect of working with Liverpool's youngsters.

When asked about the World Cup and key players being away, Iraola admitted it will give him a chance to assess the youngsters in the squad.

"Yes, I think it's important in both ways," he said.

"The senior players that have played in the World Cup, they've been feeling the pressure, they've been playing for their countries, I think they need and deserve a rest. And also this allows us to give also important minutes to train more closely with the young players that probably we don't know as well.

"Because we've been here already three seasons, playing a lot of times against Liverpool, and there are players that we already know. But there are other players probably that haven't had the minutes, have played for the development squad, have been on loan somewhere, and I think those trainings, those minutes will be very valuable for us to take decisions."

That is exactly what Liverpool fans wanted to hear. It's simply amazing news.
