The reason why Conor Bradley hasn't travelled to Singapore with Liverpool

Conor Bradley is suffering from a 'minor injury' which has prevented him from travelling with the rest of the Liverpool team to Singapore.

The 20-year-old Northern Ireland international featured in both Liverpool's pre-season games in Germany, and has been tipped for a first-team role in 2023/24, after a successful loan spell at Bolton.

The young full back is also reportedly in line for a new three-year contract.

However, alarm bells were rung when Bradley was not included on the list of players travelling to Singapore for further pre-season fixtures against Leicester City (Sunday, 30 July) and Bayern Munich (Wednesday, 2 August).

Rather than anything to raise concern, the reason for his exclusion is related to an unspecified 'minor injury' according to David Lynch, writing for This Is Anfield.

Unable to take part fully in the games next week, Bradley has been left behind to continue working on his recovery at the AXA training centre.

After impressing as a marauding right back for Bolton in 2022/23, Bradley is likely to be used as Trent Alexander-Arnold's understudy in the upcoming campaign.

James Milner and Calvin Ramsey's departures leave a spot open for another squad player at full back and the youngster could earn valuable game time in the Europa League and domestic cup competitions.

Bradley could also be used in the hybrid right-back/midfield role that Alexander-Arnold occupied for the latter stages of last season when Jurgen Klopp adopted a 3-2-2-3 formation.

Speaking earlier in pre-season, Klopp admitted that the 'door is open' for young stars like Bradley to earn a place in the team in the coming season.

The 13-cap Northern Ireland international made 53 appearances for Bolton while on loan, scoring seven times.

In addition to helping the Trotters win the EFL Trophy, Bradley was named the club's Player of the Year and Young Player of the Year.
