A super fast winger has confirmed he is dreaming of Liverpool and would want to join the club.

Richard Hughes doesn't have much time left at Liverpool.

With his expected move to Al Hilal drawing closer, the sporting director is approaching the end of a pretty turbulent spell at Anfield.

It has been quite the ride. There was the high of winning the Premier League, followed by a series of chaotic transfer windows in which Liverpool were publicly rejected on more than one occasion.

In his first window, it was Martin Zubimendi. In his third, it was Yan Diomande. To be fair to Hughes, his second window was far more productive, with a number of Liverpool's key targets arriving. The problem is that, so far, many of those signings haven't quite delivered as hoped.

And that has left supporters increasingly frustrated as Hughes prepares to leave.

When you have a sporting director in charge, you want someone who looks like they know exactly what they are doing. Someone with a clear plan, a clear strategy and, ideally, a pretty good idea of where the next move is coming from.

Instead, over the last few weeks, it has increasingly felt like Liverpool are throwing darts at a board with the lights switched off and hoping something sticks.

That is not a great position to be in.

Liverpool are now just hours away from kicking off their Premier League campaign, yet the squad still feels anything but settled. There are holes all over the place and, perhaps most importantly, Iraola is not being given all the tools he needs to make his football work.

That cannot be what anyone at Liverpool wanted when this summer began.

Things are going to have to change, and they are going to have to change quickly.

Yet here we are, still seeing Liverpool negotiate over Bradley Barcola. This is something that has been going on for weeks, if not months, and there is still no clear breakthrough.

At this point, it is becoming a game of who blinks first.

And that is a dangerous game for Liverpool to be playing when the squad depth available to Andoni Iraola is already so thin.

Barcola alone isn't enough, either. Liverpool need another winger who can operate on the right, particularly given the huge hole left by Mohamed Salah.

Ibrahim Mbaye has been mentioned as a potential target, although senior sources at Liverpool have played down the idea that there is anything concrete there. For now, their interest is understood to be little more than exploratory.

So who are Liverpool actually going to go for?

That is the question Richard Hughes needs to answer, and he does not have much time left to do it.

The problem is that the right-wing market looks pretty bleak after Liverpool missed out on Yan Diomande. It was clear the Ivorian was the player they really wanted. He was viewed as the ideal solution.

It was Diomande or bust.

Well, bust it was.

Now Liverpool have to pick themselves up, find another solution and get moving. Because the clock is ticking, and waiting around for the perfect option is no longer an option.

Well the answer could be Yankuba Minteh. Liverpool are in negotiations with Brighton to sign the super fast winger and there's a good chance he ends up at Anfield having already agreed personal terms with the club.

This would in the process help him fulfil a dream. Earlier this summer in an interview with Gambian journalist Foday Manneh, Minteh confirmed he would one day want to join Liverpool.

"I always dream, and I always have this belief in me that one day I will in one of the biggest teams in the world," Minteh said.

Manneh then asked him what his dream club was.

"For me my dream club is any team which comes that's a big club I will go there because everyone wants to play for a big club. But I think the club which suits me really, really well I would say Liverpool. It's a club that is in my mind because my idol Sadio Mane plays in Liverpool and I see what he does there."
