Richard Hughes is now in the final 48 hours of his time as Liverpool's Sporting Director.

The Englishman has been handling both Liverpool and Al-Hilal's transfer windows this summer with three new players already being added to the Reds' ranks.

And, while some of the deals that Hughes has made for Liverpool make sense, it still feels like there are a few problem areas among their ranks.

That's why, until the window slams shut at 11pm on 1 September, no deals can be ruled out.

Several members of Liverpool's first-team squad are already being linked with a move away with some still even expected to join up with the Anfield outfit before the window slams shut.

And now, it seems like Hughes is gearing himself up to have a big end to the transfer window.

Liverpool are in advanced talks to sign Ismaila Sarr

Liverpool's attack has been a major cause for concern for them this season.

Hugo Ekitike is out of action until at least January and Mohamed Salah has now joined Trabzonspor.

These issues coupled with the fact that the Reds' record signing, Alexander Isak, has failed to meet expectations thus far seems to have left the Reds in a bit of a pickle.

Most fans expected Liverpool's attack to be one of the first things that got sorted out but, with only a couple of days left in the transfer window, it feels like the Reds are scrambling to get deals over the line.

However, that hasn't stopped them from being linked with a whole host of players, even if there isn't that much time left for deals to be confirmed.

In fact, an update from journalist Sacha Tavolieri has even shared that Liverpool are in "advanced talks" with Crystal Palace to get a deal for Ismaila Sarr over the line.

"Ismaïla Sarr move to Liverpool getting closer," he wrote.

"The Senegalese's pushing to join the Reds, in advanced talks with Crystal Palace to finalize the deal.

"LFC wants the new offer they plan to submit in the coming hours to be the decisive one.

"Al-Ittihad now officially out of the race, move unfeasible at this stage."

Ismaila Sarr's Premier League experience could be very useful for Liverpool

One of the main issues teams have faced over the last couple of years is finding players who already have Premier League experience that are good enough to improve their starting XI.

Obviously, if clubs wanted to spend a massive chunk of change they could easily find those sorts of players, much like Tottenham have proven with their additions of Sandro Tonali and Savinho this summer.

However, since Premier League clubs already spend the most money out of any other league in the world, they're always on the look-out for a good deal.

Obviously, Sarr isn't the most exciting of transfers for Liverpool to make but the 95 goals that he's managed to score throughout his career prove that he knows how to find the back of the net.

The Senegal international is also 28 years old so, the amount of experience that he has under his belt compared to someone such as Victor Munoz or Rio Ngumoha could also be rather helpful.

Indeed, there's not that long left in the window for deals to be confirmed but, if a move for Sarr can get over the line, it could end up being a rather important transfer for the Anfield outfit.
