Liverpool given green light to sign £100m sensation
Andoni Iraola and his men lost their unbeaten streak on Sunday.
Before their 3-0 defeat against Manchester City, the Reds were unbeaten across all competitions and looked fairly solid.
Indeed, some of their new additions were taking a bit of time to get used to life in the Premier League but, nobody thought that they'd end up losing 3-0 to the Cityzens, especially after all the recent news that has emerged about them.
Of course, some such as Jeremy Jacquet and Ronald Araujo have more than made their presence known but others, such as Bradley Barcola, have left a lot to be desired.
This has caused the rumour mill to go into overdrive about whether the Frenchman was even worth them buying in the first place.
However, since he's not a natural right-winger and has been used there fairly often this term, the best of the 23-year-old could still be coming.
Despite their need for new attackers, other areas of their first-team squad also need to be upgraded which is why the recent green light that Liverpool have been handed could be extremely good for them.
Bournemouth would sell Alex Scott in January for £100 million
Liverpool's midfield has been the bane of their existence for some time now.
The Anfield outfit never seem to be able to find the perfect balance between their midfield partnership as, each player has their weaknesses.
For example, even though Dominik Szoboszlai was one of Liverpool's best players last term, in his new double pivot role, he's felt nowhere near as effective.
This has caused many questions and rumours to arise with a fresh update now being shared on the Reds' pursuit of Alex Scott.
"Understand Bournemout are open to selling Alex Scott this January," journalist Alexander Smith shared via X.
"Offers must be more than £100m and only if PL safety is looking likely. Liverpool are in a favourable position due to the pre-existing relationships."
Alex Scott is the perfect player for Andoni Iraola to try and sign in the future
The fact that Scott could be available for Liverpool to buy in January is massive.
The midfielder was one of the main targets on Andoni Iraola's shortlist during the summer with the Englishman knowing exactly how the Spaniard's system works.
Scott would also be classed as homegrown which, at the moment, is one of the main things that Liverpool need to think about due to the sheer number of non-homegrown players they have among their ranks at the moment.
Of course, others such as Lamine Camara and Adam Wharton have been linked but, of the lot, Scott feels like the best move for Liverpool.
£100 million is obviously a lot of money for a player who's contract expires in 2028 but, since they've already spent way more than that on Bradley Barcola, doing the same for Scott shouldn't be too much of a problem.
