Even though the 2026-27 summer transfer window hasn't been open for long, Liverpool have already been linked with several players.

Some moves have actually already fallen through with the Reds only being able to a deal for Victor Munoz over the line at the moment.

However, with how poorly Liverpool performed last term, a massive overhaul of their ranks is needed before the 2026-27 season gets properly underway.

So, with this in mind, it's good to see that one of the Reds' many targets has now confirmed that he's ready to join the Anfield outfit.

Djed Spence's England performance proves that he is ready for Liverpool

Djed Spence is one of the more recent players to have been linked with a Liverpool switch.

The defender was in decent form for Tottenham during the 2025-26 campaign but, they only just avoided relegation to the Championship.

However, during the 2026 World Cup, Spence massively upped his game with Harry Kane even dubbing him an 'outstanding' player.

Alongside this, he was arguably one of England's best players during their 2-1 semi-final defeat against Argentina.

In fact, his tackle on Giuliano Simeone just after England scored the opening goal of the clash was probably the best one of the tournament.

Despite all this, since Tottenham are looking to sign a new full-back, it does feel like Spence could end up being axed by Roberto de Zerbi.

If this is the case, the door could easily open for Liverpool to make their move on the Englishman.

As mentioned, Spence has only just emerged as a potential target for Liverpool.

Nobody expected the Englishman to be on the market and, after his performance for England on Wednesday evening, there's no wonder why Andoni Iraola wants to add him to his ranks.

As per Sofascore, Spence maintained a pass accuracy of 88 per cent and of the three long balls he attempted, two of them made it to their intended target.

The full-back had 48 touches of the ball during the clash and he also progressively carried the ball on three occasions.

Defensively, he was also solid as he won 53 per cent of his ground duels and was only dribbled past twice.

Indeed, he did make a mistake which led to Argentina's winner but, it did look like he injured himself just before that happened.

In addition to his impressive form, the fact that he's homegrown and is only 25 years old make him an ideal candidate for Liverpool's current transfer regime.

As, one thing they desperately need this summer is experienced, homegrown players.

That is, especially if they're wanting to challenge for silverware this term.
