Fabrizio Romano has opened the door for Liverpool to secure a massive transfer from Chelsea.

Chelsea fans have a lot to begrudge Liverpool fans for. Of course, there's the history. Liverpool are what Chelsea always aspired to be - a successful club with a rich heritage and culture dating back decades and decades.

Liverpool emerged from a strong community bond and developed an indelible legacy whereas Chelsea were propped up by a rich owner and manufactured a legacy that feels very tenuous at best.

Obviously, that gives Chelsea fans a lot to be envious about when it comes to Liverpool.

But recently, it's not just the history, it's the present and the future that Chelsea fans can feel bitter about as well.

Not only have Liverpool overtaken Chelsea as a more successful club in recent years, they've also stolen the Blues' biggest future asset.

Rio Ngumoha was a superstar who was supposed to spread his wings at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea rated him so highly they called him up to the first-team at 15-years-old.

He was regarded as the next big thing, and what did Liverpool do? They poached him, and now Ngumoha is very much the Reds' future and no one else's.

Naturally, what has transpired since will only make Chelsea fans feel more bitter. Ngumoha has developed into one of the brightest prospects in the Premier League.

He's playing for England and winning Man of the Match trophies at just 17-years-old and the world is his oyster. He can be anyone he wants to be.

Those notions of wanting to win the Ballon D'Or are not far away if he keeps working hard and continuing on the same trajectory as before.

And let's be honest, he's not the only example of Liverpool stealing away Chelsea's rough diamonds and turning them into polished gold.

Mo Salah and Daniel Sturridge were both Chelsea rejects before one of them became a King on the Kop and the other is a cult hero and a fan favourite.

Together they achieved success beyond anyone's wildest imagination. They could have done it at Chelsea, had the Blues been wise about how they spent their money.

Now, Liverpool can repeat the process again.

Fabrizio Romano's latest 'here we go' was issued for Marco Palestra, who is set to join Chelsea this summer.

Palestra is a right-back, and he will be coming in to compete for a spot with Reece James and Malo Gusto.

On top of that Chelsea are also exploring the centre-back market with Maxence Lacroix on their radar.

So, where does this leave Josh Acheampong? One of Chelsea's most highly rated prospects, who was already frustrated with his minutes last season.

It opens the door for an exit and it opens the door for Liverpool to pursue a move that they have explored before.

Even back in March, there were reports that Liverpool were one of the clubs monitoring Acheampong's situation. Liverpool's stance likely won't have changed since.

The Reds still need to add a right-back and a centre-back this summer. Acheampong is capable of playing both roles. He's still very young and very highly rated.

It would make a lot of sense if Liverpool did actually pursue this move. One thing is clear after Romano's latest 'here we go' the move for Acheampong is definitely on.

And it would be a massive deal for Liverpool. A massive deal between Chelsea and the Reds, who don't really conduct business with each other.
