Massive pull: African star ready to cancel contract talks now Liverpool want him
One of the biggest talents in African football is ready to cancel his current contract talks now that Liverpool want him.
Liverpool are on the lookout for elite wingers right now. They're left with little choice after Mohamed Salah departed this summer after a campaign where they already lacked production out wide.
Victor Munoz, for all his quality, isn't enough to replace Salah and also improve on last season. It'll take more than that.
Bradley Barcola from Paris Saint-Germain is certainly wanted, as Anfield Watch exclusively revealed back in April. But he's not the only one - reports broke on Tuesday evening that Liverpool are seriously interested in Ibrahim Mbaye, also of PSG.
The teenager is one of the biggest prospects around and a player we've been eager for Liverpool to move for. It now seems that's something of a reality as Fabrice Hawkins is among those reporting on the Reds' interest.
Talks should begin shortly for a genuinely fantastic talent. And that's an exciting one.
Even more exciting is Mbaye's desire to move to Anfield. Fabrizio Romano is among those reporting that the Senegal star's priority is Liverpool and that's where he'd like to end up.
That's particularly notable because, again per Romano, there are talks with Bayer Leverkusen right now. They've been pushing to sign the teenager but it appears Mbaye is ready to reject them in favour of Liverpool.
If Liverpool are able to agree terms with PSG and the player himself, of course. But we'd back Liverpool to do that at the €40m asking price Hawkins reports.
The Reds are set to be very, very busy, then. Liverpool have been slow to sort things this summer but with under three weeks to go before things kick off, the club is finally trying to make some magic happen.
Barcola and Mbaye, then?
