Livewire £50m Chelsea forward relishing Liverpool move
Liverpool have been frustrated in their chase for Yan Diomande.
The Ivorian winger, 19, has opted against a move to Merseyside - not long after the outgoing Premier League champions had a bid turned down by RB Leipzig.
Sporting director Richard Hughes offered a fee that could reach €100m for the Cote d’Ivoire international - who is under contract with the Red Bull-owned club until 2030.
That sum wasn’t enough for Leipzig to consider a deal - with the Bundesliga side swatting Liverpool’s bid away.
Liverpool onto their list of alternate targets
Before a second raid could be launched it emerged that Diomande was angling for a move to Paris Saint-Germain instead - if Leipzig were willing to do business.
Since then the Anfield club have been linked with several other wide attackers - including Yankuba Minteh, Matias Fernandez-Pardo and Said El Mala.
And now according to Dave Davies on The Transfer Show a surprise new name has emerged on the list.
Pedro Neto would jump at Liverpool move
The journalist names Chelsea winger Pedro Neto as being of interest to Liverpool - adding that the Portugal winger would relish the opportunity of a move to Merseyside.
“Liverpool are now on the alternate list,” the journalist says.
“Liverpool seem to be back in bed with Jorge Mendes, whose client is Pedro Neto.
“Our info is getting this stood up today. Neto would jump at this. They nearly did him when he was at Wolves.”

The 26-year-old came through at Braga before a loan move to Lazio. He joined Wolves back in 2019 - going on to enjoy five decent seasons with the Old Gold amid previous links to Liverpool.
Back in 2024 Neto made the move to Chelsea for a fee of just over £50m - inking a deal until 2031.
The livewire attacker got five Premier League goals and six assists last season - making 30 starts for the West London side.
With Chelsea out of Europe for next season they could be forced into some sales they’d rather not do - Pedro Neto included.
Another name mentioned in the report is Savinho of Manchester City - while we brought you news of Liverpool’s interest in Kevin, 23, of Fulham.
