Liverpool are still chasing wingers even as the transfer window draws to a close.

Having onboarded Victor Munoz for £34m from Osasuna deals remain live for both Bradley Barcola and Yankuba Minteh.

The goal was always going to be on restocking wide attackers this summer - a problem made all the more pronounced by Mohamed Salah’s departure to Trabzonspor.

Now with the season underway - and Liverpool making do with what they’ve got - immediate action is needed.

New offer coming for Barcola

Minteh is going to be the cheaper of the pair. Brighton are holding out for around £70m for the 22-year-old - a monumental return on the £30m they paid to Newcastle for the Gambian back in 2024.

Barcola is less straightforward. The tricky Paris Saint-Germain wideman is no longer part of the first-team setup under Luis Enrique - sitting it out until a resolution is reached on his future.

The 23-year-old is out of contract in 2028 - giving the French aristocrats total control over his destiny.

PSG want Diomande money for Barcola

From initial conversations it appeared as though PSG would seek an overall fee of £145m for the France international. There has been a softening in that stance however with the deadline approaching.

According to a report from Ben Jacobs in Caught Offside the two-time European champions are instead using fees for other attackers this summer as a guiding light.

The French capital side want MORE than the fee Chelsea paid to Aston Villa for Morgan Rogers - seeking around the same money earned by RB Leipzig when Yan Diomande was sold to Real Madrid.

There is a certain irony in that - given that the 19-year-old Ivorian was originally Liverpool’s first-choice winger to arrive this summer.

New Bradley Barcola bid is imminent

Richard Hughes tried and failed to land the teenager at a knockdown price before he went to Madrid for a fee that could reach £120m.

“They are expected to submit a formal offer for the 23-year-old international soon, and a lucrative offer in the same range as what is being paid for players like Morgan Rogers and Yan Diomande could be enough to close the deal,” the report reads.

“Ultimately, if it’s more than Morgan Rogers, it’s more than Elliot Anderson [£116m], and it’s closer in money to the Yan Diomande deal, it stands a very realistic chance of getting done,” Jacobs writes.

These are crucial days for Liverpool’s winger business with Andoni Iraola reportedly seeking five options for the season.

With Rio Ngumoha, Victor Munoz and Cody Gakpo in the frame already it will be soon time to usher in a new era with Barcola and Minteh too.
