Liverpool are facing uncertainty in both full-back positions ahead of the summer transfer window.

Trent Alexander-Arnold is leaving - confirming last week that he would depart once his contract expires in summer 2025. He is expected to join Real Madrid on a free transfer and Liverpool have lined up Conor Bradley to take over Trent’s duties.

But the club are also doing their due diligence on other contenders for the right-back slot considering Bradley has had issues with injury over the past year.

EXCLUSIVE: Richard Hughes targets TWO Serie A stars for Liverpool

Over on the other side of the defence, Andy Robertson appears past his best and left-back has been identified as a key position to improve by sporting director Richard Hughes and head coach Arne Slot.

Robertson, 31, has a contract which expires in 2026 and so is expected to see out his terms at Anfield but fellow left-back Kostas Tsimikas could be sacrificed to make way for a new signing.

Milos Kerkez, Antonee Robinson and Rayan Ait-Nouri are among the left-backs considered as a long-term replacement for Robbo, while Jeremie Frimpong is now emerging as the headline option at right-back.

But a curve ball has been introduced from the Netherlands, where it’s been claimed that Arne Slot is planning a double deal at former club Feyenoord.

Givairo Read and Quilindschy Hartman on Liverpool radar

It’s reckoned the Liverpool head coach has identified TWO full-backs - a right-back and a left-back - that he would like to take to Anfield.

Interest in Givairo Read, 18, is well-established. The right-back has had a breakthrough season under Robin van Persie although it was Slot who gave him his debut back in February 2024.

He was recently signed to a new contract until 2029 - amid big transfer interest - and Liverpool have been linked extensively over the last few months.

And on the other side, Liverpool could pounce for Quilindschy Hartman - a 23-year-old Netherlands international who has fallen out of favour in Rotterdam.

He wasn’t registered for the Champions League owing to injury and had only just come back into the first-team reckoning since February following knee surgery.

Slot wants to take both Feyenoord full-backs

Harry van der Laan, a former Feyenoord striker, has told the FC Rijnmond podcast that Slot wants to sign both Read AND Hartman.

"Slot really wants Hartman,” he said. "He is very high on his list.

"Slot also wants to take over both full-backs from Feyenoord. These are two really nice full-backs. They see that abroad too."

It’s been speculated that Hartman could indeed be sold this summer - with a contract expiring in 2026. He’s only made seven Eredivisie starts this season. Read meanwhile looks set to become one of the stars of the future.

Feyenoord will have to cash in sooner rather than later. Slot could use his knowledge and expertise to get these two full-back signings over the line this summer.

Slot will know if they're good enough for LFC, if so, sign them up
