Liverpool told how much they'd need to pay if they want Barcelona star
Liverpool are going to be in the news a lot this summer.
Several changes have already occurred at Anfield with some of their long-term players already choosing to leave.
And, if things continue going this way, it feels like Alisson could be following them out of the door too.
However, since it's been made clear that some new additions are needed to improve the Reds' fortunes next term, the transfer rumour mill has been going into overdrive with Richard Hughes and Arne Slot devising plans to solidify their ranks once again.
There are many players Liverpool feel close to signing at the moment and, after a new report, it feels like they could end up moving closer to getting one transfer over the line.
Barcelona would consider selling Liverpool-linked Alejandro Balde for €50 million
As seems to be the case every year, Barcelona are looking to raise funds in order to add some new talent to their ranks.
Even though they have a buy option within Marcus Rashford's current loan deal, they're trying to get him for cheaper while also attempting to add a new number nine to their ranks.
However, with their financial constraints proving to be a burden once again, the La Liga outfit are now looking at players they could offload to earn some quick money with a new report from Sport outlining how much a deal for Alejandro Balde could cost Liverpool.
Balde has previously been linked with an Anfield switch due to his ability to play as a left-back or a right-back.
His preferred position is on the left so, with Andy Robertson leaving, there's a perfectly-sized void available for him to fill.
And now, a new report claims that Hansi Flick would be willing to sell the 22-year-old for around €50 million.
"The club's idea is to try to make some big-money sales without significantly disrupting the core of the squad, and they are certain that the full-backs could help with that, as there is considerable interest in the market for both Balde and Kounde," they wrote.
"Barça won't force any move and are leaving the operation in the hands of his agent, Jorge Mendes, knowing that the player has lost his starting position and that the club doesn't consider him untouchable.
"No one denies that a sale for more than 50 million euros would be key to giving their transfer plans a significant push.
"Mendes' role will be crucial in everything that happens this summer. First, because of the Alejandro Balde case, and then because he will have to manage the departure of Marc Casadó, a player Flick has barely used and who also has the option to leave."
Alejandro Balde is right up Liverpool's street
One of Liverpool's main goals in the transfer market over the last few years has been to build for the future.
This is proven by their recent signings of Florian Wirtz and Kerkez who are both under the age of 23.
Both players are among the Reds' starting XI and, since they're so young, they have plenty more room to grow.
This is exactly why Balde would be a perfect signing for them.
The Spaniard is only 22 years old and he's already had plenty of experience at the top level while representing Barcelona.
The fact that he can play across multiple positions and has contributed to three goals this season all point towards him being an excellent signing.
He'd also only cost Liverpool around £43.2 million which is very similar to what they paid for Kerkez last summer.
Indeed, investing heavily into another left-back may not seem like the best idea but, with the potential he has, it would be an incredible signing.
