A new exciting development has emerged for Liverpool.

Andoni Iraola's time at the club hasn't been made easy with the injury situation. Particularly at the back when the Spaniard first arrived, he had to use makeshift options in pre-season.

Ifeanyi Ndukwe was thrust into the spotlight, playing virtually all of Liverpool's games early on, even though he was only expected to be with the U21s.

Luke Chambers was also used as a centre-back, even though his preference is to play as a left-back.

Going into the season Jeremy Jacquet thankfully recovered from his injury but Conor Bradley is still a long way away from returning and Giovanni Leoni is expected to be some way away from being available for action as well.

When will Conor Bradley and Giovanni Leoni return from injury?

The expectation is that Leoni should be on his way back soon. Previous reports suggested he is expected to join training this month, as soon as the international week has ended.

That means Leoni could be involved with the squad as soon as next week. Although, Liverpool will not be in a rush to get him on the pitch. They will take their time, knowing the serious nature of the ACL, and how recurrence is likely.

Leoni will have to be carefully eased back in.

The same will be the case for Bradley, but the expectation is that he won't be involved until January 2027. Bradley suffered a very serious injury himself, and while he is back on the grass, Liverpool will be in no hurry to get him involved.

Hugo Ekitike confirms brilliant news

Another great miss has been the French forward. Ekitike quickly became a fan favourite last season with his dazzling performances and his ability to score goals.

Then he suffered a horrendous Achilles tear, which has resulted in him missing over six months of football now.

It's expected that Ekitike is targeting a return to action towards late December. However, it could be even sooner than that.

The Frenchman took to Twitter, to share in a post that he will be back 'soon, soon.'

Ekitike ended the message with a winky emoji, suggesting that there may be good news on the way.

If that's true, it's an exciting development and a brilliant update. Ekitike being back on the pitch as soon as possible will be a beautiful sight to behold.
