It is clear from the opening months of Andoni Iraola's tenure that Liverpool need reinforcements.

The Spaniard has been tasked with returning the Reds to the very top of English football, and some more signings will be necessary.

Several positions need to be strengthened, but one of the biggest priorities for the Anfield recruitment team is left-back.

Kostas Tsimikas and Milos Kerkez are both proving to be inconsistent under Iraola, and a fresh face is needed to boost the squad.

Multiple candidates have been linked with Merseyside moves, but one target stands out and has already impressed against Liverpool this season.

Liverpool to take on Man United and AC Milan for target

One of the many names currently being linked with an Anfield switch is Archie Brown, the Fenerbahce left-back that both scored and assisted against Liverpool on Wednesday.

The 24-year-old has impressed for the Turkish side this season, attracting interest from all around Europe.

Having scored three goals and provided two assists already, Brown is highlighting his attacking capabilities from fullback this campaign.

According to an update from Ekrem Konur, Liverpool, Manchester United, Chelsea and AC Milan are all monitoring Brown's progress, but it would take an 'astronomical' fee for the Fenerbahce to consider his sale in the winter window.

The side paid just €8 million (~£6.7m) for Brown in 2025, and the Englishman is now valued at around €17.5 million (~£14.5m) by FootballTransfers, but it would presumably take a significantly higher fee to secure Brown’s services.

It is unclear what Fenerbahce would consider an 'astronomical' fee. They have never received more than €30 million for a player but they are under little pressure to sell as Brown has 18 months remaining on his deal.

Liverpool could try and test the resolve of the Turkish side and we could see Brown playing for Liverpool before the season is done.
