Liverpool have been linked with a whole host of players this summer.

Several areas among their ranks need upgrading and, if they don't manage to bring enough players in, they could actually end up even worse off than they were last term.

Indeed, the Reds have kind of solved their centre-back issues with the addition of Ronald Araujo but, since his injury history leaves a lot to be desired, it's unclear how reliable he's going to be.

Of course, a couple of years ago the Uruguay international was seen as one of the best centre-backs in the world but, thanks to a couple of dodgy moments and a mental health break from football, his confidence is at an all time low.

But, now that he's at Anfield, it could be the new lease of life that he needed to get back to his best.

However, Araujo isn't the only defender that Liverpool should have brought in this summer.

Djed Spence is about to join Inter Milan for €31.5 million

Although Araujo can cover centre-back and right-back, it still feels like the Reds' are a bit thin in their defence.

Their full-backs are a particularly dodgy area of their squad with Andy Robertson recently exiting and Conor Bradley out injured until who knows when.

And, if Iraola wants to use Araujo as a centre-back rather than a right-back, that only leaves Jeremie Frimpong.

Indeed, Frimpong was brought in as a right-back to start off with but, as the season went on last term, it was obvious that he wasn't cut out to be a right-back in a back four.

So, this led to many different transfer rumours emerging with Anfield Watch even exclusively revealing that Djed Spence had been eyed by Liverpool since 2023.

Rumours kicked off once again this summer after Tottenham went on a mad spending spree but now, it seems like the Englishman is on the verge of joining Inter Milan despite his recent links with Liverpool.

"Djed Spence to Inter, here we go! Verbal agreement in place now with Tottenham for England RWB," Fabrizio Romano shared.

"Transfer fee worth €31.5m.

"Full agreement also with Spence who wanted the move as revealed over recent days. Deal in place."

Djed Spence would have beem a quality signing for Liverpool at €31.5 million

In this day and age, €31.5 million (£26.9 million) is a steal for almost any player.

However, for Spence, it's an absolute masterclass.

The defender was one of England's best players in the World Cup and, during his time with Tottenham, he became one of the first names on their team sheet.

Spence can be used as a right-back or a left-back with his blistering pace one of the best things about him.

This versatility and his experience of the Premier League would have made him an ideal acquisition for Iraola, that is, especially since he likes his full-backs to attack when possible.

Of course, like most players, he has his dodgy moments but the fact that Inter are signing him for just over £25 million is mental.

Here's hoping that Liverpool know what they're doing and that Bradley is back sooner than anyone thinks.
