Liverpool lining up brilliant transfer to replace Federico Chiesa

Liverpool are now making moves to sign a replacement for Federico Chiesa.

There's no denying the Italian has quickly become one of Liverpool's biggest cult heroes, proving that impact is not always measured by minutes played.

There is a sense of excitement around Anfield whenever Chiesa is introduced.

Supporters know that he possesses the quality to change a game in an instant, whether through a moment of individual brilliance, a perfectly timed run or a clinical finish.

Despite not being a regular starter, he has already delivered several important goals, repeatedly showing his ability to influence crucial moments when Liverpool need him most.

That knack for producing in decisive situations has made him a firm favourite with the fanbase. Every appearance feels like an opportunity for Chiesa to provide another memorable contribution, and his commitment and enthusiasm have only strengthened that bond with supporters.

Chiesa is entering the prime of his career and he needs to play regular minutes. Under Andoni Iraola, with his quick and direct style of play, it is moot that Chiesa who has lost a touch of pace since suffering an ACL injury would be the player suited to this intense style of football.

One of the factors as to why Chiesa was sparsely used under Arne Slot was because of the Dutchman's firm belief that the Italian did not work hard enough off the ball.

That is only going to become more intense under Iraola, who demands and who wants his players to run their socks off with and without the ball.

Given the fact that Chiesa is not getting any younger, a natural parting of ways is the best solution for Liverpool this summer.

And the expectation remains that Chiesa will be on the move. Liverpool are already lining up a move to replace him.

With Hugo Ekitike's injury, the reality is that Liverpool do need another attacker. The addition of Victor Munoz is helpful but if Chiesa leaves Liverpool will need to replace him, as well as Mo Salah.

Munoz is more of a Luis Diaz replacement rather than anything else.

And well it looks like Liverpool are making moves in that direction.

L'Equipe as per GFFN News reports that the Reds have been making calls about Ferran Torres in recent weeks. The Spaniard scored the winning goal for Spain in the World Cup final, and he has had a solid season with Barcelona scoring 21 goals.

Unlike Chiesa, Torres is hasn't lost his pace, he's rapid and intelligent with his movement on top of being an excellent link-up player.

Paris Saint Germain are also in the race to sign him, but he just looks like an obvious option for Liverpool. The Spanish connection with Iraola and on top of being able to play across the front three and provide much needed cover in Ekitike's absence, Torres ticks all the boxes.

He's an upgrade on Chiesa. It will be sad to see the Italian go, but this is the right move.
