However, the victory over Ipswich showed that there are definitely plenty of things to be optimistic about.

The Spaniard knows how to get this team playing exciting attacking football. He understands how to platform attackers like Cody Gakpo and Alexander Isak.

The former has four goal contributions in his first three Premier League games, the latter has three goals in three matches.

Liverpool meanwhile are slowly returning to playing a kind of football that matches the club's identity and philosophy.
