Liverpool handed major transfer boost as fresh update shared
Liverpool underdelivered for their fans this season.
Most people thought that they'd be putting up a decent fight for the Premier League title but, in reality they were the laughing stock of the Premier League.
Of course, they still managed to qualify for the Champions League but, if it wasn't for their first five games of the season when they won each one, they'd have been in some serious bother.
With this in mind, it's clear to see why Arne Slot was sacked and now, fans are actually looking forward to what the future could have in store for them.
Several transfers will need to be made before the 2026-27 campaign kicks off and, luckily for the Reds, they've already been handed a huge boost regarding one of their own players.
Juventus are looking at Emiliano Martinez and Guglielmo Vicario instead of Alisson
For the last few months, Alisson has been linked with Juventus.
The Old Lady are wanting to improve their ranks after failing to qualify for the Champions League this season.
Alisson was one of the main ways that they wanted to do this with the 33-year-old even agreeing terms with the Serie A giants.
However, since the Reds have lost so many experienced players already, they were somewhat opposed to the idea of letting him go and, now it finally seems like Juventus have accepted that stance.
That is, if an update from Sky Sports is to be believed.
"Juventus are interested in signing either Emiliano Martinez from Aston Villa or Tottenham's Guglielmo Vicario, according to Sky in Italy," they wrote.
"The Italian club want to sign a new goalkeeper and were ready to make a big push for Alisson at Liverpool, but the club want him to stay.
"Juve are now looking into other options and Sky in Italy report that Martinez at Villa has the right personality they are looking for."
Liverpool must keep Alisson at all costs
Alisson is one of the last players to have played through Liverpool's era of dominance under Jurgen Klopp.
And now, with their new transfer strategy being to sign young players who have plenty of potential, they're going to need one or two experienced players around to mentor the youngsters.
Liverpool are a team with an illustrious history and, even though the 2025-26 season was shambolic, there's still hope that improvements can be made.
And with someone such as Andoni Iraola at the helm, attacking football feels likely to make its way back to Anfield next term.
In Alisson's case, event though he may be injury prone, he's still a far better 'keeper than Giorgi Mamardashvili and, without him between the sticks, Liverpool would've been far worse off this season.
The Brazil international only has around a year left on his current contract after he signed his extension and, in that time, Liverpool could target a new goalkeeper or, if Mamardashvili is loaned out, he could massively improve.
But for now, especially with the number of changes that are expected to occur at Anfield, keeping Alisson in L4 is a need, not a want.
