Liverpool given major boost in pursuit of €60m attacker
Liverpool's attack has been a bit of a problem for them over the last couple of years.
When Jurgen Klopp was at the helm, his trio of Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane helped carry the Reds to their Premier League and Champions League wins.
However, as they got older, they were shipped out and sent away to other clubs.
And, while Salah may have stayed put until the start of the 2026-27 season, Liverpool didn't stop trying to replace the dynamic trio with £241 million being spent on Alexander Isak and Florian Wirtz just last summer.
At that point, most fans thought their problems would have been answered but, unfortunately, that was far from the case.
This led to another £150 million + being spent on Victor Munoz and Bradley Barcola which, at this point, still hasn't been enough.
So, even though almost £400 million has been splashed on fixing the Reds' attack, links are still being shared with new options for Liverpool with the Anfield outfit now being handed a major boost in their pursuit of one long-term target.
Arda Guler's new Real Madrid deal could open up the door for an Endrick exit
Endrick has been linked with a Liverpool move for a while now.
Although the Brazilian started his career as a striker, during his time with Los Blancos, he's managed to get used to playing on the right-wing.
However, since Jose Mourinho has been in charge, the youngster has barely managed to feature for the La Liga outfit which has caused many questions about his future to arise.
Throughout the summer, the 20-year-old was linked with many different teams but, of the lot, Liverpool's interest probably made the most sense.
They need someone to replace Salah and, since Yan Diomande chose to join Real Madrid, their options wore thin.
The addition of the Ivory Coast international pushed Endrick further down the pecking order and, now that Arda Guler is about to sign a contract extension, it's clear that the Brazilian isn't going to be making his way back into Mourinho's plans on a regular basis.
So, that's why a door for Liverpool to sign the attacker may have just been opened.
Endrick would be perfect for Liverpool
Obviously, since Endrick is still young, Liverpool are going to have to pay a hefty chunk of change to bring him in.
When the attacker was signed by Los Blancos back in 2022, the deal was confirmed to be worth up to €60 million.
So, realistically, especially after his performances for Lyon in the second half of last season, Mourinho is going to want a lot more than that to allow him to leave.
Indeed, the former Manchester United boss has said that he doesn't want Endrick to exit the Bernabeu but, if he continues to be given hardly any playing time, it feels like the youngster will have no other choice but to leave.
We may be a tad biased but, of all the clubs interested in signing him, Liverpool would be one of the best destinations for the youngster.
Not only would he be likely to have a regular starting role for the Reds as a right-winger but, he'd also be able to continue his development in the world's strongest domestic league.
All of these things point towards why Endrick joining Liverpool at some point in the future would be a good idea, here's hoping the Brazilian sees things the same way.
