Liverpool confirm it: Two new stars to arrive

Liverpool have officially confirmed that two new stars will join the club. Deals have been finalised.

Liverpool closed the transfer window without finalising all the business they wanted to get done. There are clear gaps in the squad and the Reds need to address them ASAP.

Of course, certain squad players will now have the opportunity to prove they can fill those gaps between now and January. Some will even get until the end of the season and this Liverpool squad may look quite similar or a lot different this time next year.

We know it'll look at least slightly different, though. Liverpool confirmed ahead of the transfer deadline that they'd complete a signing: Lucca Brughmans. He joins from Genk, where he remains on loan for the remainder of the campaign.

Brughmans is only 18 but Liverpool are clearly confident about his quality. They're paying €30m to get him next year, where we imagine he takes Alisson Becker's place in the squad.

And now it's been confirmed that Brughmans won't be the only addition in 2027. Liverpool are also signing Djylian N'Guessan from Saint-Étienne in a deal that formally goes through in January.

N'Guessan will spend this campaign on loan at Brest before arriving at the end of the season. It's a notable one as N'Guessan moves up a league before even arriving at Anfield, given his current club are in Ligue 2 but Brest are in Ligue 1.

We imagine Liverpool wanted him to get a higher level of experience over the campaign before moving, rather than simply loaning him straight back to Saint-Étienne. They'll clearly have high hopes and clearly feel he's got what it takes to perform at the top level already.

Both players are still teenagers, which is something of a trend at Anfield. They've been buying incredibly young recently and are putting extra faith in teenagers at the first-team level - as seen with Rio Ngumoha and Trey Nyoni this season.

Brughmans and N'Guessan are the latest to fit that bill. We'll certainly keep an eye on them over the course of this campaign - they could be in Liverpool's first-team this time next year.
