Liverpool attacker agrees deal to join Premier League rivals

Liverpool's squad are still going through changes.

At the moment, three new players have been brought in but, with how badly they underperformed last term, many more additions are still needed.

However, with these extra arrivals, some sacrifices will need to be made with Curtis Jones and Wataru Endo among those who Liverpool are willing to let go.

Losing someone such as Jones would be tough to take but, for Endo, it feels like his time in L4 is coming to its natural end.

Aside from these two, there are many others who could also be on their way out.

And now, a Liverpool exit has actually been confirmed.

Liverpool youngster Vincent Joseph has agreed to join Arsenal

For as long as anyone can remember, Liverpool's academy has been one of the best in the world.

Players such as Steven Gerrard and Trent Alexander-Arnold have managed to make their way through the Reds' ranks and into Liverpool's history books thanks to their service.

And, for years, Liverpool has been one of the best places for youngsters to make their way into the senior squad, that is, until Arne Slot took over, of course.

When the Dutchman was in charge, players such as Jones were isolated from Liverpool's plans which led to him seeking an exit.

And, when Slot was still at the club, others such as Josh Abe were being linked with moves away and now, as per an update from The Athletic, one of the Reds' best prospects, Vincent Joseph, is on his way to Arsenal.

"Arsenal have reached an agreement with England youth international striker Vincent Joseph to join the club from Liverpool," they wrote.

"An agreement is in place between Arsenal and Joseph, and the two clubs are currently discussing a fee settlement for the 16-year-old striker.

"If one cannot be found it will be decided by a tribunal, which is necessary when a player under the age of 24 moves clubs before signing their first professional contract or at the expiry of their professional contract."

Andoni Iraola must get Liverpool back to their old ways of promoting youngsters

One of the worst things about Slot's Liverpool reign was his lack of desire to promote youngsters into Liverpool's first-team.

And, even when he did give them a chance to prove their worth, they were often only given limited minutes.

Rio Ngumoha was obviously the exception to this but, the Dutchman only started trusting him towards the end of the season when it was clear that Cody Gakpo was performing nowhere near the levels he needed to.

But, for Iraola, things seem to be a little different.

Throughout pre-season, the Spaniard has given regular game time to a lot of the Reds' youngsters with Trey Nyoni even expected to play an important role for Liverpool this term.

This obviously perfectly aligns with the way that things have ran at Liverpool in the past and, if Iraola delivers, Liverpool's academy could become one of their strongest assets again.
