Liverpool agree personal terms; Bombshell transfer moves forward after deadline

Liverpool are pushing forward on a transfer past the deadline. Personal terms have reportedly been agreed.

The transfer window shut this week and Liverpool ended it with a squad that quite clearly requires work. Work that really should have happened during the transfer window. You can't have it all.

There's a lack of depth pretty much everywhere except centre-back and the left-wing, where the squad actually has too much, if anything. But there are no natural right-forwards, only one fit centre-forward, one fit right-back and no defensive midfielder.

Not a defensive midfielder who will play, anyway. Wataru Endo does exist but Liverpool leaving him out of their UEFA Champions League squad is a sign that Andoni Iraola isn't going to play him this season.

Much as Arne Slot didn't.

But Liverpool definitely do need that midfielder. Virtually everyone has been calling for one across these first two fixtures as the defensive gap in the middle is proving impossible to fill with this group.

Fortunately, Liverpool are making moves in the right direction. The Reds are reportedly massive fans of Lamine Camara and made a call on deadline day to start work on a move.

Now, Liverpool weren't able to complete a deal this summer but they absolutely plan to in 2027. Indykaila, who consistently got things right this summer, reports that they've actually agreed personal terms with Camara and are pushing forward on a deal for January.

The midfielder has said yes to a five-year contract - one that matches the terms he'd agreed with Chelsea before that deal was cancelled. Liverpool hope to get an agreement with AS Monaco shortly and lock a transfer in for January.

Quite honestly, this is the best move they could currently make and it's fantastic news that they're pushing ahead. Fingers crossed they get Camara over the line because the boost he'd give this squad is tremendous.
