Just crazy: Unbelievable offer for Liverpool star made public by agent
Liverpool received an unbelievable offer for one star this summer. An agent has made the figure public.
Liverpool have already said goodbye to three key players this summer. Mohamed Salah, Andy Robertson and Ibrahima Konate have all departed on free transfers.
It's a massive blow. Liverpool will need to replace the trio somehow and in some ways that's just impossible.
Those are three senior players who have been at Anfield for a while. Konate's five years even look short compared to the other two, who arrived in 2017.
But there was a real chance that they wouldn't be the only senior outgoings. Alisson Becker's future was the subject of much confused as he consistently faced links to Juventus.
The Old Lady were certainly eager to sign Alisson. The Brazilian has one year remaining on his contract and a difficult campaign with injuries meant (still means?) Liverpool were open to offers.
Juventus then reportedly agreed terms with the player before making an offer to the Reds. Now agent David Lavelle has revealed exactly what that offer was.
“I know he’s reached a personal agreement with Juventus," Lavelle told Oggi Sport Notizie. "The Brazilian is worth around €15m or so, and the Bianconeri entered the race for this goalkeeper with a brazen offer.
"I don’t know if the Juventus management offered €7m to Liverpool just because he’s in the final year of his contract."
That's right: €7m. A ridiculous offer for one of the absolute best goalkeepers on the planet and a key part of this Liverpool team. There is no question that Alisson would bring at least €7m of value across one season for the Reds. No question at all.
So we're not sure what Juventus were thinking there. Liverpool were never going to accept such a low fee, nor were they going to bother negotiating from there.
Alisson will remain at Liverpool as a result and we fully expect him to be in the first-team squad this coming season. Juventus would need to dramatically improve their bid to change that.
